"When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat.""
David shifted down as well, bleeding from her first bite as a lycan and feeling her second as a humanoid.

He sat up, picking her up to meet him, lifting her into his lap as he went for her neck since she held a death-grip on his, his hands roaming around her back.

"Well, you ran."

Auduin was enjoying himself, and figured that his sister was by this point, as well. He was drunk, barely maintaining any modesty, dancing around the largest campfire in the city with Kaitlin by his side. Half of the 'dance' was jut staying on his feet, but it only added to the fun.

It was nights like this that reminded Auduin that the Pack really was a family.

The next morning Kit moved a little slower than normal, nothing a few days of relative peace wouldn't fix, those parties got brutal at times and Kit had a few marks to prove she had fun. She grinned, yep, she had done it and she was entirely sure she was awesome at sex, now all she needed was a few dozen more under her belt and she'd have caught up to Au.

When she saw Kait she could only sigh and shake her head, the female looked troubled, her brother was an asshole. She walked over, bumped her shoulder into Kait then settled an arm through hers and tugged her along to walk. "You, me lunch, hot date, wear your hair down." Kait finally smiled a little and let out a laugh. "You're on but you have to wear your fur suit, I like my partners in hairy." Kit nodded then let her go, she had to go greet the elf.

When she beat on the cottages door she walked in too, not giving a damn about modesty. "your companion died last night without regaining consciousness, it's within your rights to attempt to challenge me." She flipped a small dagger out of a hidden spot in her leathers and let her amusement carry. "You should be aware, however, that I am an expert in hand to hand combat and the pack will probably kill you if you lay a hand on me. The choice is yours."

Coelho was nudged from slumber by the loud voice of an obnoxious female lycan. Thankfully she was only making half-death-threats today, so he allowed a more leisurely response roll off his tongue. He cleaned the deep sleep gummy spit from around his tongue and groaned.

"Uhm... Um. No, but thank you. I've no interest in all that." He didn't let on that he was the slightest concerned for the demoness. Coelho was relieved that she'd no longer be able to hold him hostage. Her company had never done him good, and caused some sizable amount of grief.

He wasn't the slightest concerned. Good riddance.

The imp hadn't slept, and had listened to the sounds of the settlement all through the night. His tiny black eyes were alert as he watched the wolf.

Coelho rolled over and slipped his feet to the floor, then, almost energetically, sat up. He felt marvelous after a full night's sleep. The elf scanned the room to make sure that his sleep-deprived delirious memories were accurate, and that he was actually where he remembered being. The world looked normal. The sunlight didn't sting his eyes. He embraced the warmth, and felt it on his skin. So comparatively energized was he that Coelho almost felt like dancing.

Conserving strength now was important, though. He was still a captive for now.

She nodded, he had claimed to be captive and so it made sense he wouldn't want to avenge the death. She was about to turn on her heel and leave the room when something... wicked crossed her mind and had her shrinking to the human again. Kit turned to face the elf, an easy smile and wicked light in her eyes. "You're an explorer..." She moved around the room in a half prowl, snatched the imp out of his hiding spot and brought him by the scruff of his neck to sniff him again. As a human his scent wasn't quite so bad.

Loyal little thing. "Where will you travel to next?"

The imp cringed away from her grasp and hissed, but she latched onto it before it could scurry underneath Coelho's cot.

"Lemme go," it cried, and it snapped and clawed at her hands.

"So we're free to go, again?" He rolled his eyes. "You people change your minds often." A righteous observation.

At least the last two times he'd spoken with them, the wolves seemed to be in generally agreement as to letting him go. Now that his mind was functioning again, he knew he could easily out think the rambunctious lot. Avoiding making enemies of a confident neutral party was a fair priority, too, until he was well out of their territory.

He just had to keep playing passive until then. "Would you let the little beast alone?"

Coelho snapped his fingers and the demon disappeared from her grasp. A summoning circle appeared on the ground at the warlock's feet, and the imp was transported there instantly, splayed on his rump with his hands dumb and limp in his lap.

"It's obnoxious."

He stood and stuffed his journal into the ruck sack that the dissenting lycan from last night had left him. He'd leave as soon as they allowed him to, and get as far away as possible as quickly as possible.

"I'm going to the Black Hills in Alendia, where animals and men go to die." That included the lycanthropes twice. None were likely prepared to survive the deathly heat of the desert that Coelho had been naturally born into.

The morning hit Auduin like a runaway horse. His foggy memories told him that he had a good time the previous night, but those that were sharp told him to get back to work.

Not leaving his chambers, he called for quill and ink. From his remarkable memory, he wrote down everything he had learned from the elf, adding notes to the exact copy he had made of the man's entire journal before Auduin had entered the room and given it back to him.

The intelligence was appreciated, even though he still felt that they were more of a threat than the man lead him to believe. Why were the bodies suddenly washing up on shore now? Civil War? Failed voyages? Increasing numbers?

Something wasn't right, that much was for sure. The city needed air defenses. It needed to not be so damn flammable.

A plan was coming together. If only it didn't hurt to think.

She weighed it out, shrugged when the imp disappeared from her hands and largely ignored the elf's irritation. He really didn't have an excuse to bitch, they hadn't hurt him, had fed him and kept him safe for the night in a place where he likely would have been a lamb for the slaughter. Some people were never grateful, she rolled her shoulders and eyed him. Did she want to leave?

Better, did she want to leave with an ungrateful moron? He certainly hadn't been smart in any instance she had spoken with him and only a retard would wander into the woods after being taken by a silly woman, yeah, he would have been a candidate for the special circle where drooling was rewarded. She wondered if he believed himself superior.

"You'll be supplied with enough food and water for three days travel for both yourself and your companion, the sun isn't fully risen yet so I would suggest waiting an hour before leaving."

It was what she was willing to give, a little because she probably didn't need to kill the female, a little because her brother and his friend had played a trick that was a little mean.

"Thank you," he started, pulling from the deep, internal pool of sarcasm that all ghinaari possessed. But considered for half a second that it really was generous to send him away with supplies, so the last half of the sentence was issued with slightly more reverence for the act.

"...For the kindness."

He didn't tell her that he would be back, making many more expeditions to the isle of Azzeth. He didn't admit to plotting the lycanthrope extermination last night, writing it off an an extremest approach to a situation in which none had been properly prepared for the chance meeting in the forest. He didn't look to her for any other assistance, for support, or even for an apology for the murder of his supposed accomplice.

They had their reason for doing what they did. Coelho had his. This was the world, and he simply glad to be leaving theirs very soon.

--

An hour later, when the sun had finally breached the canopy of the trees, Coelho set out from the well-guarded gates of their settlement. His company pointed north. He should be able to follow the coast to border hills of Alendia. The imp followed, still in silence. A well behaved creature, or so he had become. He might have to give the tiny beast permission to speak again to break the monotony of travel that was sure to come.

(OOC: Exit Coelho.)

Kit watched from the wall, waiting for the two to disappear into the darkness of the trees, she needed to know the strangers were off of her territory, no longer her responsibility. When she had seen the last of the light colored hair through the leaves she turned to eye the male standing next to her. "So..." she leaned back on her elbows "What are you up to tonight?"

Next conquest on her list, Mat, good looking, not as big or as... well whatever as David but... She had a world to populate right? That's how Au managed to justify his lack of fidelity, besides, it was just sex after all. "Perhaps... You should find me..." She moved away from the wall, stroked him with her tail as she walked by and down before fully becoming the wolf and trotting off to find out what her brother was up to before she grabbed Kaite for lunch.
