Tomorrow Wednesday - live on Eurosport 2 at 18-15 - all the way from Mexico - Thomas Dekker

Saturday Sarah Storey on the London Olympic track - obviously attacking the Ladies Record - not sure on time as yet or if televised - maybe on Red Button again?

Another failed attempt - this time from from Thomas Dekker - despite going to Mexico in order to ride at around 6000 above sea level. If he had ridden in a staright line he would have been closer - nearly as bad as 80 year old Harry Hill going for the age related record where he wandered up and down the Mancjester track but still got the record.

A nice summary of the Hour Record since Eddy Merckx did 49.4km - on the outdoor track at Mexico - in 1972

http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/tag/hour-record

It all got messy after Eddy with various positions and bikes being tried to go further.

No tri-bars. disc wheels/aero helmet for Eddy - he said it was the hardest thing he had ever done! That makes Graeme Obree's rides in Norway all the more incredible as he failed on the official day and booked the track for early the next day to set the record on 'Old Faithful'!

We were also at the Manchester Velodrome to see Chris Boardman on his two attempts - look at the difference aerodynamics made to his two rides! The second one he beat Eddy's record - which was reinstated and Chris had to ride a similar 'Old School' bike - by 11 yards from memory!!

Another UCI Hour record attempt - at Manchester Velodrome Revolution Series on Saturday

Swede Gustav Larsson goes to clock 52.5 km - at least - with a 3-30pm start and tickets for the afternoon session are still avalable

Just to move this thread along a few weeks - and for those who may not yet be up to date - our own Alex Dowsett reset the World Hour Record with a very impressive 52.937 kilometres on Saturday on the velodrome at Manchester.

Unless someone improves on that in the next month or so that is now the figure that Bradley Wiggins has to beat when he attacks the record on the London velodrome in early June.

As a Campagnolo fan myself I was very happy to see Alex on his Campag fitted bike on Saturday
