A clear blue sky this morning at Spring Wood.
7 riders - minus Ian who has gone off on his holidays and Our Leader Harry.
We discussed our destination - quickly deciding to keep to gritted roads.
Colin wanted a shorter ride out and decided on Payethorne turning back to The Gardenmakers. We headed for Settle - on the usual route - apart from going through Clitheroe centre.
Everyone was aware of the cold / possibly icy conditions . All respected the conditions. ( especially when they found out that Peter Duerden has fractured his right leg. )
There were a few icy patches en route to Settle but on the whole the roads were dry. The views were outstanding today. Clear and vibrant - The 3 Peaks were dressed for a Wedding - stunning white gowns. Everyone commented.
We headed for The Naked Man Cafe - not many of them about today - far too chilly !!
Warm and welcoming - they were happy to ‘do’ the beans, poached eggs and toast that most wanted - even though the breakfast menu had finished. A big 👍 for them.
Soon on the road again we trundled back to Spring Wood happy to have had such a lovely ride out on a cold winters day.
Happy Days !
