Awhile back a former leader of RTL said she thought we should have a more active approach in our our Pro-Life mission. One of the things she said was the creation of a Minister of Outreach to help people find the help and resources they need if they are an expecting Mother, thinking about the adoption route, or maybe even being a father unexpectedly. So this could be very beneficial to many people, so post your thoughts here and what the responsibilities of this new minister should be. Ideas what kind of info it should include: Example #1 Example #2 Example #3 |

I like the proposal.

Some people feel guilty about their anxieties and regard them as a defect of faith but they are afflictions, not sins. Like all afflictions, they are, if we can so take them, our share in the passion of Christ. - C.S. Lewis | |

Shall we put this up to vote if there are no other comments? |

I'm still disappointed by the fact that no one seems interested in democratically electing our ministers. I would like to propose the following compromise: The Senate could pass a resolution calling for an RMB poll to determine the Minister. Said poll would be legally binding. If the poll proves a success, then we could consider electing more officials by universal suffrage. If it fails, then we can just drop the idea. One more thing: Before we call a vote, I must ask the President to tell us whom he intends to appoint as the first Minister of Outreach (assuming my idea gets rejected). Whatever the merits of your idea, a constitutional amendment would need to be passed first. Edited by Culture of Life, Sunday Aug 21 2016, 10:39 PM.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. This is just an observation, but you seem to view a constitutional amendment as an outlandish measure, even though you just signed one. |

The constitutional amendment that I just signed reversed an experiment that failed -- a minor experiment in adjusting the Senate's size. The constitutional amendment that you're proposing is for a new experiment -- a major change in the way the region's government is structured. I don't think amending the regional constitution is necessarily "outlandish," but I'm certainly highly skeptical of any effort to overhaul the way the region has been run (successfully) for the past five years, especially following the recent failure of a relatively minor change. |

I think we should wait. We can vote on this bill in late September. It can take effect after the October election. |

Couldn't one of the current government positions handle recruitment? Maybe Interior? |

The bill above doesn't say anything about recruitment.
