Political parties officially recognized by the regional government will receive their own private subforums so that they can conduct internal party business.

It is recommended that parties, whether or not they're recognized by the government, create threads in this forum so that they can recruit new members and publicly post their platforms. Only one thread is allowed per party. Each party is allowed to determine its own internal rules, including rules about the selection of party leaders and candidates. Furthermore, it is suggested that parties develop their own cultures, including party logos, etc.

The Christian Conservative Party is not based upon Christian conservatism, but on both conservatism and Christianity.
This might present a problem. Regional law requires political parties to be political organizations:
  • "Every party must be formed on the basis of a political ideology or group of political ideologies" (RTL Code 5:2).
Adding religion to the mix could run afoul of the regional code. When our region was drafting the political parties law in November 2012, I said that I wanted the rules to "guard against the establishment of identity parties." Senator Prussia quickly agreed with the statement, and nobody expressed disapproval. Three years ago, there was a consensus among legislators and regular citizens that the region should try to keep its politics secular. In February 2013, this issue came up; and the proposed party voluntarily switched its name from the Christian Conservative Party (déjà vu XD ) to the Traditional Conservative Party.

See Wikipedia articles: [wiki]Identity politics[/wiki], [wiki]Legislative intent[/wiki], and [wiki]Originalism[/wiki].

I'm not saying that "Christian Conservative Party" is illegal, but its legality is questionable. My recommendation is (1) to choose a new name for your party and (2) to create a separate regional interest group that promotes Christian values in regional politics.*

* Interest groups, because they are not officially recognized by the regional government, have a great amount of latitude under the freedom of religion, the freedom of expression, and the freedom of association, all of which are guaranteed by regional law. To make a comparison to the United States, a Right to Life party is like a 501(c)(4) group, which is tightly regulated, whereas a Right to Life interest group is like a "super PAC," for which there is almost no regulation whatsoever.

I have edited my application. The Christian Conservative Party believes that government should be based upon Christian values. I apologize for the confusion.

That's fine as long as you elaborate on those values. What's legally questionable is your party's name, which might violate the statutory requirement that every party "be formed on the basis of a political ideology or group of political ideologies" (RTL Code 5:2). Christian conservatism, at first glance, appears to be a religious stance. You can amend the party's name, or we can ask the regional judiciary for a ruling that authoritatively determines the meaning of the political parties law. The first option would be an immediate solution; the second option, of course, would take some time.

Every citizen has to be anti-abortion; and it's perfectly acceptable for a regional party to have positions against gay marriage, euthanasia, and evolution in its platform. Your stances are not the problem. The cause for concern is your party's name, which implies that your party is being formed on the basis of a religious stance rather than a political ideology in contravention of the regional code.

You need either to change your party's name or to challenge my interpretation of the political parties law in regional court. If you choose the former, you could create an interest group, in addition to your party, that would seek to advance conservative Christianity and conservative Christian values in the region.
