I am AGAINST this proposal because I do not believe Hippostania has violated all of these resolutions. Resolution 9: Prevention of Torture No evidence is given that Hippostania tortures the people whom it imprisons. Resolution 27: Freedom of Assembly This resolution protects only peaceful assembly and does not protect calls for violence. The Hippostanian law being criticized by this proposal outlaws:
Resolution 30: Freedom of Expression This resolution excludes from protection "incitements to widespread lawlessness and disorder." The goal of anarchism, which Hippostania forbids, is lawlessness. Communism, which Hippostania forbids, calls for revolution against the existing social order. Resolution 35: The Charter of Civil Rights In this proposal, no evidence is given that Hippostania has violated this resolution. Resolution 43: WA Labor Relations Act The condemnation proposal is correct here. Hippostania, because it has a laissez-faire economy, does not protect the rights of workers. Unions are technically allowed; although, the lack of labor regulations in Hippostania does make it difficult for them to exist. Business owners do what they can in Hippostania to smother unions. Resolution 174: Right to Petition No evidence is given that Hippostania restricts the right to petition. |
