Anybody interested in studying up on some potential Rangers, the NHL Network did a show ranking the top 31. It's on again overnight, and at 10 am tomorrow.

Thanks, KC. I didn't see the show, but I've been doing a lot of reading up on the draft picks from many draft sites. Just out of curiosity, if the Rangers stay put in the first round, who do you want them to select?

Haven't done enough research yet to come up with my pick. I will say, if you're picking this high, you have to lean towards taking someone with high end offensive talent(unlike last year). To me, it's easier to find quality dmen later in the draft.

Whoever the Rangers end up picking, I hope they are players with lots of upside, with size, and who play with the kind of attitude that is conducive to winning. Basically, I want players who will do whatever it takes to win and who have all of the necessary attributes to make it happen.

Every season 29 teams fail. I guess they all suck, huh?

What the Rangers need to do IMO is get Montreal's pick (3rd) so they can get Tkacuck. Give them the 9th pick, plus another 1st round pick plus either Namestikov or Spooner. I would NOT give them any of our D prospects (Day, Hijack, Lindgren, or the russian kid) or Pionk or Gilmore. I would give them DeAngelo if that would get the deal done. It would be great to get a young, big LW that plays with attitude.

I have a feeling the Rangers are going to try to trade up in the first round. The trade scenarios that you mentioned are all reasonable to me. If the Rangers end up staying put, I'm fine with that too.

The 2018 draft is exactly 2 weeks from today. I've never been this stoked for a draft, considering we have 3 first round picks.

This is a huge draft for Montreal and their fanbase is pissed. Everything they do is scrutanized to begin with, but will be even more so with a high pick. They likely got burned with the Drouin and Weber trades and certainly won't fuck around with this pick. Denangelo or Namestnikov? For Montreal? C'mon.

Right now they have the 3rd pick. My proposal was give them the 9th and another 1st round pick and Namestnikov or Spooner and even throw in Deangelo for their 3rd pick. They get 2 first rounders, a legit NHL center, which they need, and a young D man that has potential, for 1 pick. How is that a bad deal for them? They need centers, D and a restock. Turning 1 pick into 2 and getting a proven C and a young D as well isn't a bad deal. They want more than that, then good luck I say to them.

I think Gorton has already said they will not use 3 first round picks, so a trade of some kind will be coming.

Yeah I think so too. Gorton has mentioned more than once that he's going to be open for business on draft day and is going to be working the room.
