No way are they trading up to 3 to take Tkachuk. If we somehow get to 3,we have to take Zadina.I like Tkachuks game but Zadina is a better player with a higher upside. He is the type of young sniper we havent had since i dont know when.Maybe Gaborik. |

He actually said that? Could you link to that? Things change everyday, you don't know what's available, what teams are willing to dea,l until draft day draws closer. He may have said he's open to trading a pick, but every GM should be open to just about anything. |

First off, Deangelo is trash. Namestnikov and Spooner, nice players, but let's face it, they're throw ins. Next year's first round pick for the Rangers? Probably a mid level pick, 12-14, nothing exciting, not when you have a top 3 in a DEEP draft. They'll get an Impact player for a team that needs it, along with some positivity. They are not fucking with that. If you want that pick and you're the Rangers, it'll cost you Kreider or Z bad and the 9th pick. Conversely, if the Rangers had the number 3 pick, would you trade it for that package? Not me. |

The Habs need D and centers, so getting two legit NHL centers in their Mid 20's, plus 2 first round draft picks, plus a defender that could be a bottom 6 for them for moving down 6 picks in the first round is a pretty good deal for them. Yeah, it's the 3rd pick, but it's not like they can't get a very good defensive prospect picking 9th. If they wanted Z-Bad or Kreider, I simply hang up the phone and pick 9th. Non-starter for me. I don't have a link for it but I read it in two places a while back. I think his quote was..."they can't all be 18"....when he was talking about rebuilding and said he was open to trading a 1st round pick for the right deal. Obviously he didn't say he was trading a 1st round pick no matter what, it has to make sense, but he was indicating he was ready to keep dealing to continue rebuilding. Starting to take more of a look at some of the prospects, scaring me that there are so many smallish, offensive minded dmen ranked right where the Rangers are picking. Wahlstrom, a righty shooting wing, intrigues me, put up some nice numbers. Just wonder if he's a one trick pony. Some familiar names going to go thus year. Wendel Clark's son, another Sutter,, a Pivonka, Kjell Samuelsson's son. |
