Tol.... he’s growing into a replacement for David Wright..leadership wise... personality wise and on field performance wise.....no better model than that...
Even though many of us think/thought he is finished..the tenacity and love of the game is amazing... his determination level is boundless and admirable...no matter how much the cheapons are paying him...he’s earned every dime...
There was talk about his leadership potential even as as teen. Now we're beginning to see it in action as his game evolves, confidence grows and media turn to him for comments.

This morning I was thinking this is becoming Nimmo's team, heir to David as homegrown face of franchise in all around tools and how he conducts himself with such class - but that there's also Daniel Murphy in there in how he plays the game with blue collar creed and enthusiasm while remaining authentic, humble, thoughtful... a student of the game who also gives credit to his teammates and in whom religion is an important part of his life.

The scouting reports about him when drafted and several years onward were spot on although he's taken a circuitous path of ups and downs and all sorts of mechanical and approach methodologies to come full circle.

Imagine Sandy traded him for McCutchen and Nimmo was doing this in Pitt?

That would have been disaster.

What he's doing is incredible closing in on enough plate appearances to be stat qualified. A few days ago he was 18 plate appearances shy, last night they said something like 7 or 8. Almost there to be leading the majors in Slugging with .603. This is surreal.
:highclap:

The next challenge will be to adjust as teams adjust to him. That's the biggest hurdle.

Anyone remember when Sandy was going to trade Nimmo for Bruce several years back, but it never went through because of a medical problem with Nmmo’ s heel?which had undergone surgery...

Then there’s this

Nobody would have blamed the man for bolting to the showers to clean up, and celebrate the big W with his family. Not Brandon. Instead he greeted each and every fan who waited around for him. Signed autographs and took selfies until everyone was happy, THEN called it a night.”
