Reading some reports citing MSG’s Lenn Robbins as the source. Not sure if this is legit or an opinion.

A little surprising if true as he said he loves it here and $18 million is a lot to turn down.

Save that money for next offseason.

Reports are evidently untrue since Enes disputes them. I'd love to see him remain here for the long term. If it means paying him his 18mil this season so be it. The best case scenario would be this opt in leading to a Cap friendly extension. He's a beast off the offensive boards and amongst the top scorers in the league per minute not to mention a positive force on and off the court. Looking into the future, partnering with the rim protecting Mitchell Robinson in a defensive/offensive rotation(provided our #2 pick realizes his potential)could be quite effective. Keep in mind Kanter will be playing the upcoming season at the ripe old age of 26.

I don't know if he is getting anything close to 18 million in the open market if he opts out, but from a basketball stand point a few teams could definitely use him.

Houston is in danger of losing Clint Capela in Free Agency.
Dallas could use a big man to finish off Luka Doncic lobs.
Philly could use some Joel Embiid insurance.
Brooklyn could definitely use his leadership and rebounding though I think they are trying to save cap room for next year.

Milwaukee has needed a big man since Andrew Bogut left.

I guess the reports from MSG over the weekend was in fact premature - at least in being official. He said he's gonna wait until the last minute to announce but does love it here and hopes to be back. That said, he also said his agent told him there's 4-5 teams interested in him.

OKC could be another.

I read Dallas may make another run at DeAndre Jordan, and Houston plans to match any offer Capela gets.

Houston has a serious problem. They have to figure out how they are going to pay both CP3 and Clint Capela. They already have a few huge contracts on the books. Harden, Ryan Anderson, and Eric Gordon.

Personally I think DeAndre is overrated. For all his defense and rebounding, dude is such a liability offensively in the 4th quarter, that it almost negates his game.

Can't they go over the cap to resign their own guys (Capela and CP3)? That's why I've been saying LeBron isn't going to Houston. Too much tough to make the financials work without destroying that roster.

They can go over the cap but they are going to go into the luxury tax. For LeBron I'm sure they would dump Eric Gordon and stretch Ryan Anderson.

But I don't believe he is going there.

They would also need to renounce the rights to Capela, and get creative with contracts for CP3 and LeBron.

They were close to making the finals, bring back the squad and add some other pieces. They don't need to blow it up just to bring in LeBron. The would still lack the depth to beat GS.
