Fubukigakure no Sato![]() Village Description: Within the nearly inhospitable regions of the Tundra Country its hardy people continue to thrive. Throughout its history it has maintained a brutal and strict class system that has miraculously maintained order for quite some time. Though there have been numerous attempts at usurping this regime by and large the nation enjoys an icy and suspicious peace. The nation maintains much of its financial security through fishing, textiles, livestock and the lumber industry. Most of the worlds high quality lumber originates in the Tundra Country. The Village Hidden in a Blizzard lies in the south east regions of the massive Tundra Country and is concealed within a perpetual blizzard. Within the Village life is hard, individuals are distrustful of one another and questioning one’s lot in life can easily end in death. The eerie silence that surrounds the village has caused the howling winds to sound even louder than they actually are. Dangerous animals and the ever present threat of hypothermia make it nearly impossible to reach the village without a guide. The village has a proud tradition of Taijutsu and puts great value in physical improvement. Ninja who train in the village have been seen to have a strange affinity for the cold and are rumored to be able to blend into any surrounding. Beyond that, the village takes great pride in the textiles it produces. Clothing from the Blizzard Village is the strongest and finest made in the world. The Samuikage lords over the village. The Villagers within the Blizzard are immensely distrusting, iron willed and tough. Village History The Hidden Blizzard Village is quite divided in class. Initially, the Moerufuyu family was one that established the village. The family was monumental to the construction of the village. For generations, the Moerufuyu family helped govern over the land. They were the income that supported the Chakra bearing disciples. However, the village was young and the disciples old, only leaving a few ninjutsu to the people before dying. During this unsettling time, a group of organized thugs too over the village. These thugs constantly abused the people. However, as time passed, they recruited more and more armed ninja to live amongst the people. This was mainly for intimidation, however, the country grew so much in ninja that it housed a hidden village. Helpless, the people would live under their rule of the thugs for the past 70 years. For generations, the Moerufuyu family became criticized for baseless reasons. They were ostracized by the villagers as the source of their problems. Years later, a man known as Kaisu arrived to the village. A powerful shinobi with many followers. The Moerufuyu quickly took this man's side, seeing him as another hero, much like the chakra disciples before him. Up until this point, the thugs, now called Sabaku no tsume (yakuza), hired ninja to protect them. However, no one they paid could stand up to the strength of Kaisu. The war lasted nearly 30 years due to the yakuza's shear numbers and support. The war even encompassed civilians, many of whom fought for daily survival. Massacring villagers was common practice on both sides and the village became known as "Red Snow". Finally, Kaisu won victory with one push into the main tower. The people were blinded during the time of war to the man's true intent. Kaisu quickly seized a great deal of the nation's wealth and elevated the status of those who supported him. Because of this, most people fell into poverty while others became nobles. Fearing Kaisu's strength, the people dared not to stand up to him. Tension mounted and people became distrusting towards one another. They became isolated and angry from one another. The country soon turned as bitter as the coldness around them, giving the country a nickname, Fuyu no bochi, meaning Winters graveyard. Location: The country is in the upper far north, it is generally very cold in terms of climate. There is almost always snow within the county. A few areas have blizzards surrounding them; Setsuden is no exception. Hidden in a blizzard that seems eternal, it is difficult for most people to cross into this village. However, due to its strength, many people venture here to request missions. Inside the Village Low Endona The Low Endona is the first part of the village that is glanced upon when entering the village. much is still in “livable” conditions but it becomes very apparent the longer you look that much is run down or contains residents who are within or just barely teetering into the spectrums of poverty. Also in this district is the market area almost completely run down now as none but the wealth can afford to spend idely, and many get what they seek from outside the village. High Endona High Endona is in reference to the “higher end of the village where as you get closer to the “heart” of the village the more well care for and expensive the houses may become Housing The inbetween of the lower and higher end districts, here it is labeled “normal” life much like any other village. much of these houses are all connected together stretching the roads continuously within the village. you do not see much hustle and bustle here but there is more activity from civilians here than in the lower end. Graveyard to one side of the village close to one side of the glacial walls that surround the village is the graveyard, where many of the dead go. Much of those buried here are of the “wealthy familial clans” another graveyard outside the walls holds those of the “civilian” class who have died because of the war but could not afford the “service” of placing their dead within the village’s walls. this other graveyard is barely maintained and only by those who’ve their dead buried there, as the storm surrounding the village never lets up and thus makes it hard to go out and maintain it. Ice Field The icefields are a very small publicly accessible area where any sort of food that can survive the tundra storm and freezing temperatures can be cultivated within the edges of the village. Almost entirely on the other side of the village opposite to the graveyard in positions within the village. The Academy Like almost all villages one can be found even in this frozen expanse. it is located farther inward to the city generalized just at the point where there is a separation in the lower district and Higher End of the city. Fuyu Tower Fuyu tower resides at the heart of the village and is where the “kage” and their “family” reside, black op are constantly seen moving through or around this building as it is a central to the village. Wall of the Lost The wall is in essence a monument to honor the dead who have lived both hero’s and the tragic death of those who fell in the war. all are dedicated to the wall and it is the one tradition that None choose to change.
