American Involvement in Upcoming G8 Summit in Sochi: As a result of Russian interference in the Crimean region of Ukraine, violating Ukraine's sovereignty, the United States will not be taking part in the G8 Summit talks later this month in Sochi. We urge other G8 members to recall their involvement in the summit in Sochi. The United States stands in support of Ukraine's new interim government, and is calls upon the Russian Federation to withdraw their forces in Crimea back to Russian bases in Crimea or to Russia itself. Deployment of U.S. Armed Forces in Poland: The United States has decided and successfully deployed assets of the 173rd Airborne Brigade to Poland’s eastern border to coordinate and align with the Polish Army efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity in light of Russian aggression on Crimea. NATO has furthermore decided to expand its Air Policing efforts in the Baltic due to similar reasons as stated in the aforementioned. US Forces will stay in the designated areas until such time that the Russian Federation decides to stand down and withdraw its illegal occupation of Crimea. The United States reserves the right to and in close cooperation with its allies and partners in NATO to commit further forces, where the United States finds it feasible and strategically important in order to preserve peace and stability in Europe and the World at large. On the Vote of No Confidence of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: The United States has taken note of the domestic developments and political atmosphere in Turkey. While as of recent relations has been challenging, the United States continues to review Turkey as an important ally and partner. We therefore welcome Acting Prime Minister Emrullah İşler onto the stage and hope that he can facilitate a swift transition and manage successful and transparent general elections. The outcome of the election will enable a new government to form and the United States will ensure that relations can return to a more strong and consistent framework. We therefore await the outcome and until then acknowledge Acting Prime Minister Emrullah İşler as the leader of the government. |

On US training mission to Ukraine Acting upon request from the elected Ukrainian government and in accordance to the Budapest Agreement of 1994, the President has ordered the deployment of 400 US Training Personnel tasked with supporting training and exercises of the Ukrainian Army. The purpose is to enable the Ukrainian Armed Forces to independently uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which has been violated by Russia with the occupation and ultimate absorption of Crimea. These units will not participate in any form of action in relation to the internal affairs of Ukraine, namely the protests seen in eastern Ukraine. These units are deployed at Ukrainian bases in western Ukraine, where they will undertake their mission. |

United States Deputy Secretary of State We take note of Chinese complaints, but would like to highlight that no ships have violated any Chinese territorial waters. The United States Navy has merely deployed several vessels as a part of an extensive goodwill mission occurring throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and is not directly involving itself in any territorial disputes currently ongoing in the South China Sea. We do however encourage Beijing to enter into negotiations with neighboring countries and halt its provocations for the purpose of mutual peace and agreement in this area of the world. |

Ambassador Cui Tiankai Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the United States of America As a note, Beijing has been attempting to solve the tensions bilaterally, as witnessed by the agreement we have reached with Malaysia. However, these efforts are severely undermined and impaired when ports are visited by US Warships in a clear message to Beijing. |
