![]() H.E. Mr. Motohide Yoshikawa Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations It has come to the attention of several nations including Japan that the DPKR has been lying to the world whilst they built intercontinental and medium range ballistic missiles on the peninsula. We Japan have incontrovertible evidence to prove this fact. In the interest of world peace I must ask that the security council bring up this issue as it is a clear threat to stability based on their previous behavior. Also, I hope that Japan along with North Korea, South Korea and China could hold talks to help deescalate this conflict before it goes any further. In order for 6 party talks to resume, These weapons must be dismantled. While Japan would like to take China's advice in seeking a diplomatic route, we simply cannot continue talks under a threat of further launches indirectly or directly at Japan or South Korea. It is North Korea that has created this conflict not Japan, not the United States and not South Korea. As soon as it can be confirmed that said missiles are taken down, and North Korea will comply with Security council resolutions, Japan would be more than willing to come to talks once again. |

Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations Esteemed delegates, The Republic of Korea recognizes the rights to defend the DPRK by their own hands. However it should not be implemented as a threat to neighboring countries. The DPRK have launched their missiles over the territory of Japan and it could seen as a threat on Japan's sovereignty. We won't ask the DPRK to give up all capabilities related to self-defense of the DPRK. We are asking the DPRK to take one more step toward the peace and stability of Northeast Asia. I believe that why they are engaging the Six Party Talks. We must acknowledge that DPRK has suspended the reactor voluntarily To sum up, the Republic of Korea would like to encourage the DPRK that they must re-consider further missile test toward another countries. |

![]() H.E. Mr. Vlad Lupan Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Although the Republic of Moldova is a neutral country and doesn't take part in foreign conflicts, as signatory of the NPT we must echo the words of Mr. Joon. DPRK has the right to defend its territory but not by threatening the neighbor countries using nuclear weapons. The Republic of Moldova will support any kind of statement of the DPRK government about the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes but will continue supporting the sanctions approved by this chamber meanwhile Mr. Kim Jong-Un continues with its atomic development policy. |

![]() Sin Son-ho Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea Due to the inability of our delegation to have any say in resolutions that effect us, both good or bad, we will post our thoughts of the recent discussion regarding the resolution under discussion in the UNSC which addresses the agreement being drafted in the Six Party Talks. The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea does not recognize America's unilateral recess. A country, even the Imperial power of America, cannot unilaterally declare a recess in the Six Party Talks. We expect them to return to talks forthwith or damage the ability of the talks to come to a comprehensive agreement. In addition, the DPRK expects that all sanctions will be removed in a timeline agreed upon within the Six Party Talks. If America demands that sanctions remain because of our legal self-defense rocket program and civilian space program then no agreement will be reached. The DPRK is tired of America's attitude towards our country and towards these talks. The fact that they seem to be the only ones both in the UN and in the Six Party Talks which have caused problems and then have the audacity to blame it on us is extremely detrimental. |

![]() U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations The delegation of the United States will return to the Six Party Talks in accordance to the recent statement made by our colleague participating on behalf of the United States. That said, it is evident that the United States has worked focused on enabling an agreement to be reached, which suits all parties participating in the Six Party Talks. It was also the United States that pointed out the fact, that a session is necessary to be held in the UNSC in order to remove sanctions in accordance to the agreement. As pointed out in the UNSC, several resolutions contains clear references to North Korea's hostile ballistic missiles program and the UNSC must therefore assess what needs to be done with these sections, since the Six Party talks only addresses North Korea's illegal nuclear program. We would again, call for the government in Pyongyang to broaden the scope of application for its efforts to solidify strained relations with the international community, which includes its ballistic missile program and Chemical weaponry. |

Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations The Republic of Korea expects the recent UNSC resolution on repeal of sanctions to the DPRK will breach the current situation around the Six Party Talks. In order to achieve a firm and clear peace on the Korean Peninsula, both parties, the United States and the DPRK must act wisely for that purpose. In regards to the DPRK's ballistic missile program and chemical weapons, I hope that DPRK would keep their promises to deal with it in separated meeting. |
