Saudi Arabian Bid Team, 2024 Olympic Games Dear friends, as you well know, the world will converge on Rio de Janeiro next year, and on Tokyo in 2020, to celebrate the greatest international sporting festival - the Olympiad, which has since ancient times inspired athletes to be the best they can be and to push the limits of human endeavour and of the human body itself. To this end, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is proud to announce that it is preparing a bid package which will be revealed soon to show a modernising, inspiring Olympics that would take place in Riyadh, and other cities around the Kingdom in 2024. An Olympiad in the Middle East is long overdue. Our beautiful, holy region, the cradle of civilisation, has never hosted this great sporting event and I would invite all nations to support this noble idea which will combine the best of East and West. We also invite our neighbouring nations to attach their support to a Co-Bid. |

Senior Diplomat I trully would like to see an Olympic Games set in a Muslim country. I think that, jointly with Africa, are the two places where the Olympic flame didn't visit yet. The Republic of Moldova has a question: how will you guarantee the security of the athletes? Thank you very much. |

President and Secretary-General of the Polish Olympic Committee Poland will not be supportive of Saudi Arabia's bid for hosting the Olympics to be held in 2024. Whereas countries such as Qatar have made significant strides in recent decades to empower and enfranchise women, similar measures have not been undertaken in Saudi Arabia. Our personal opinions on Saudi Arabia's human rights status aside however, how does the Saudi Olympic Committee anticipate female competitors competing in these Olympics, given the statutes in place in its country which significantly undermine women's rights and the activities during the Olympics which would most likely be a violation of those statutes? |

We would like to advance a bid for Berlin to host the Olympics. Germany has not hosted since 1936, and has advanced a bid as recently as 2000. Berlin has very significant transport infrastructure as a hub for worldwide trade, tourism, and commerce, and the German government is prepared to finance renovation of existing stadiums around the city to provide the venues. |

Great Leader of the Korean People
|
![]() Kim Kye Gwan Senior Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea would like to once again state that the 2018 Olympics should be held jointly between the DPRK and Seoul. I must remind the international community that there is a joint North/South Olympics committee which has been ignored by the International Olympics Committee. Because it seems that bias within the committee refuses to recognize the DPRK as a legitimate nation in contention we support the claim made by the Peoples Republic of China. |

President of the Korean Olympic Committee We don't have any agreement between the Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) and Olympic Committee of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on joint holding of 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games. If the DPRK want to hold it within their country, they must consult with the International Olympic Committee in proper way. Republic of Korea has obtained the rights to hold 2018 Winter Olympic Games in proper way through the competition. It will be a clear non-sense if the DPRK holds it within their country without any right procedures to hold it. |

The Republic of Korea has to realize that BOTH north and south Korea have a joint Olympic team and Olympic committee. The south cannot exclude the north without denying the games for the south as well. |

President of the Korean Olympic Committee I think you're completely misunderstanding what I said, Mr. Takeda. I suggest you to read carefully what North Korean delegate has said. |

Then I would like the honorable representative from the Republic of Korea to make clear his intentions. Our nation would support a joint Olympics. Does the ROK disagree? |
