The Dutch government is interested in expansion of the Eurocorps and is willing to contribute 200 troops to Eurocorps and become a full framework nation, for the purpose of strengthening the European Union's official quick reaction and response force, which as seen deployments in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

The Republic of Poland would be willing to support the expansion of the Eurocorps. Poland would be willing to contribute up to 500 soldiers to Eurocorps.

As one the main contributors to the Eurocorps, we believe we can establish another brigade, so that we can rapidly deploy ASAP to any trouble spots.

Amsterdam is pleased to find support from Berlin and Warsaw. We are very interested in the establishment of a Dutch-German brigade with our neighboring country. We also hope that London and Rome also see fit to join in a Eurocorps enlargement.

Dutch-German Brigade would be a good idea, we can use Fenneks as our main APC as we both make then.

While I appreciate the apparent regard with which my Dutchcounterpart seems to have for the British armed forces, my government vehemently opposes such an idea and we have absolutely no interest in participating in any binding militart structure that duplicates NATO capabilities.

This is an economic union, not a political or military alliance and we will reject all measures to further integrate along such paths until our renegotiation is dealt with in May.

Mister Rogers, our intention is not to create a structure that duplicates NATO. There are many members of our Union that are not members of NATO and this small force is merely intended to show a symbol of unity between the diverse European states.

Mr. Rogers,
The Republic of Poland would like to point out that the Eurocorps is not a duplication of NATO. While NATO is a military alliance spanning Europe and North America, Eurocorps is a specific military formation based in mainland Europe that operates as a rapid-reaction force for NATO. Expanding Eurocorps would not be duplicating NATO's capabilities; rather, it would be expanding NATO's capabilites.

NATO has a rapid reactionary corps (ARRC) and this would a diversion of forces that could be better placed under a competent and established military command rather than handing yet more powers to Brussels.

We have no objection to other members contributing more to Eurocorps, but we will not participate and we will never permit the creation of an obligatory standing EU military force. This is a step too far, and one that the British public would never ever accept.

We understand Britain's issue and will respect them. If members want to contribute then we have no objection to it.
