The Dutch government is interested in expansion of the Eurocorps and is willing to contribute 200 troops to Eurocorps and become a full framework nation, for the purpose of strengthening the European Union's official quick reaction and response force, which as seen deployments in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

NATO has a rapid reactionary corps (ARRC) and this would a diversion of forces that could be better placed under a competent and established military command rather than handing yet more powers to Brussels.

We have no objection to other members contributing more to Eurocorps, but we will not participate and we will never permit the creation of an obligatory standing EU military force. This is a step too far, and one that the British public would never ever accept.

Amsterdam is troubled to hear London's response to this. It seems UKIP has more influence than perceived. We would really like to have our brothers from the British Isles to contribute, but we will respect London's wishes and not persist further.

The Republic of Poland respects the United Kingdom's decision not to participate in the formation of a new Eurocorps Brigade. Also, the Republic of Poland does not support in any way the formation of a obligatory military formation for the EU.
