![]() Alexander Pinchevsky Minister of Foreign Affairs Thank you Secretary Alexander for your fast answer. Dear Sirs and Madames from the European Union. I'm here to discuss the possibility to create an EUFOR deployment in Moldova in order to protect ourselves from self-destruction. The Communist Party of Moldova, since it achieved the nation's rule, have solved the Transnistrian crisis by withdrawing our troops from the checkpoints and returning the captured soldiers to the Russian Federation. But now, there's another issue that can cause a violent clash in our streets. Moldova is now a polarized country. The loyal followers of the Liberal parties led by the ultranationalistic Iurie Leanca desires an annexation of Transnistria and Gagauzia at all costs meanwhile our party only wants to maintain the statu quo. Gagauzia had been an Autonomous Region since the birth of Moldova and it is our right to protect them. But the criminal law against the regional authorities ordered by former Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and supported by the President created a turmoil that now can shake our weak stability. As we promised in our political program, we've returned the Autonomy to Gagauzia and we approved an Amnesty Law that can take all those Gagauz politicians imprisoned off the jail. But, that's something that we cannot do meanwhile President Snegur continues refusing to sign the law. In two months, there will be Presidential Elections but it is sure that the opposition won't accept a candidate from our party. If we get stuck and we cannot choose a President, the stability may be broken and the violence can return to the streets like in 2010. For that reason, the CPRM and the PSRM beg the European Union to help us to protect our people from themselves and to protect the Gagauzian Autonomous region from any kind of violence against the minority. Thank you very much. |

Douglas Alexander Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs The United Kingdom is not prepared to contribute personnel under an EU military banner, but we will support any mission that is agreed upon financially and by providing logistical support using RAF transport aircraft to bring in supplies for whatever EU-led force is ultimately deployed. |

![]() Alexander Pinchevsky Minister of Foreign Affairs Dear Sirs, First of all I would like to thank you for your support. Let me notice that Russia won't tolerate a mission of this kind so the EUFOR must be deployed always in our sovereign soil. I think it'll be a task for the EU diplomacy to negotiate the collaboration between the EUFOR and the JCC. However, my government thinks the best place to deploy your forces is Gagauzia. As the most unstable region in our country, we'll need the biggest part of your forces there. If anyone wants to give his opinion, is more than welcome to do it. The Republic of Moldova gladly accepts your help in this dark times. |

Valery Gerasimov General of the Army Chief of the General Staff Russian Federation Esteemed representatives of the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, Contrary to what seems to be the belief of the honored Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Alexander Pinchevsky, the Russian Federation is actually not opposed to the deployment of a European force to the Republic of Moldova as long as it has full communication with the Joint Control Commission to ensure that no breaches of the security area occur. The Russian Federation, if requested, would be willing to send observers and indeed would like to send unarmed observers to accompany any European force deployed near the security area if that is acceptable to the Moldovan government. We would like to make perfectly clear that the Russian Federation fully supports the stability of our partner countries, including the Republic of Moldova, which is why Russian peacekeepers are deployed to ensure said stability in Transnistria. If Moldovan officials would like further forces from Russia that can be arranged, but we will not oppose the deployment of limited European forces instead should that be preferred, as long as they do not pose a threat to the security of Transnistrian civilians, Russian soldiers, or civilians in general within the area of deployment. Any cooperation between the Joint Control Commission and any European force deployed to the country would be welcomed and recommended to ensure no misunderstandings create issues. We look forward, and hope that the European nations too look forward, to cooperation between any security forces as well as with the Moldovan government. |

Peter Tempel Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union Brussels We believe that a EUFOR force and Russian observers should be fine. Berlin will send 100 troops. EUFOR will work closely with the joint commission. |
