Official Statement Regarding the Deployment of Australian Military Assets to Combat ISIL
June 4th, 2015

Posted Image
Yesterday, the Australian government had ordered the deployment of air assets from the Royal Australian Air Force, to assist the anti-ISIL coalition, that had been created to help put a stop to the currently greatest terrorist threat to regional and global stability, as well as the lives of the millions affected by ISIL everyday. The Australian Armed Forces can confirm that targets in Iraq have been struck by Australian F/A-18 aircraft, and ISIL militants continue to lose ground everyday, as the brave Iraqi and Kurdish fighters, our allies, work to push back this scourge. More air-strikes will be planned for the future as the Iraqi National Army and the Peshmerga, along with other allies continue to take the fight to ISIL.

Australia is not acting alone, nor is it just acting with the United States in this mission, but rather Australia is acting with a broad coalition of over 40 nations, including regional allies to make sure that this mission can be carried out effectively and has the support of much of the international community and regional partners. There will be no more safe haven for these terrorists, so long as they continue to pose a threat to the free world. Today, it is the sincere hope of the Abbott administration that all Australians will give thanks and prayers to our men and women in uniform, as they carry out their mission with valor, esteem and pride, in the interest of a safer world, a more peaceful Middle East, and a reality where ISIL will no longer exist and no longer bring terror and death to the people

Official Statement Regarding Australia's Role in the Fight Against Ebola
June 10th, 2015

Posted Image
The Australian Government would like to announce the dispatching and deployment of the first Australian personnel to West Africa as the world continues to fight the Ebola virus that has been ravaging the region. After receiving confirmation from the British government that the Gibraltar Health Authority will take in and treat any Australian health or aid worker that contracts the virus, over 100 Australian personnel, 64 of whom were health professionals, have been flown to West Africa, where three teams will be divided amongst the nations of Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, states that have been hit the hardest by this outbreak.

They won't just be providing medical care and assistance to the people of these nations, but Australian medical officials will be coordinating with and assisting local governments and authorities to make sure that the effects of efforts to combat ebola are maximized, services can be provided effectively, and infrastructure can be developed in an effective and well-managed manner. Other Australian volunteers, who are traveling with the team, will provide non-healthcare related services and support to local authorities, international organizations, and other entities in West Africa that are committed to combatting Ebola.

Not only will Australia commit human resources, but 40 million USD in aid have been committed to efforts related to the ongoing fight against Ebola. 20 million will be committed to the general fund that the United Nations had requested be fulfilled in order to continue to contain Ebola, stop it's spread, and treat those who have the virus. 10 million USD will go towards the provision and distribution of medical equipment and safety kits. 5 million USD will be allocated for the funding of cash incentives for medical and aid workers to play their part in fighting this disease. Another 5 million USD will contributed to the development of medical facilities and infrastructure of Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea as they continue to be pressured by the sheer number of people who need help.

Australia is ready to pitch in and pull it's weight as not just a member of the international community but as one of the most prosperous nations on earth. As we are tackling the problem head-on, we request that other nations who have the resources, both in terms of wealth and personnel, to reaffirm their commitment to fighting Ebola, by contributing more to international efforts. This issue should not be politicized, as Ebola knows no distinction between nationality, and it is in the interest of regional, but global health, to contain the disease before it spirals out of control.

Official Statement Regarding the Dutch Flight MH17 Incident Report and It's Findings
June 10th, 2015

Posted Image
As the anniversary of the MH17 Incident in Ukraine, an event that killed 298 innocent people, with 32 of these being Australians, nears, the Australian government confirms that it has received the Dutch findings and reports that was recently released to the public. These findings assert that flight MH17 was shot down through the use of a Buk missile system, also known as the SA-11 Gadfly, and this weapon was fired from deep within pro-Russian territory during the conflict in Ukraine, implying that pro-Russian rebels, who have been supported and backed by the Russian Federation are the culprits in this heinous act of violence against innocent civilians, and that it is extremely unlikely for the Ukrainian military to have launched the missile. This has been the stance of the Australian government on the matter, that pro-Russian separatists committed this act which killed our countrymen.

Given these findings, the Australian government strenuously condemns the Russian Federation for their blatant lies regarding this matter, for not only producing blatant lies regarding the matter and deflecting blame away from the separatist, criminal elements in Eastern Ukraine, but their support of said separatist elements through funding and the provision of military equipment, which essentially provided them with the tools to shoot down Flight MH17. The Russian government truly is the bully of Eastern Europe, and now it's provocative actions in recent years, in an attempt to expand their sphere of influence has not only killed Georgians and Ukrainians, but our fellow Australians as well. Their deaths are on Moscow's head, and we will seek justice for all those who died on Flight MH17, find the culprits who committed these acts, and ensure that justice is served to the fullest extent of the law.

Official Statement Regarding Australian Personnel in Iraqi Kurdistan
June 24th, 2015

Posted Image
The Commonwealth of Australia has pledged to be a full and active member of the anti-ISIL coalition that has been set up by the United States, and regional as well as international allies and partners, a coalition that has dedicated itself to the eradication of ISIL who continues to wage a campaign of violence and terror in Iraq and Syria, and we intend to stand by our pledge.

When Australian personnel left Iraq six years ago, we left a nation that boasted a true vision for a future where stable, prosperous, democracy would define Iraq after decades of war, strife, and oppression. ISIL seeks to threaten this prospect, by waging a conflict based on their interpretations of Islam, and now threatens tens of millions of people in Iraq, the same nation that our men and women fought in, in order to establish an Iraqi nation based on common democratic principles. Now, if Australia doesn't step in with the dozens of other nations in this coalition, all the death and casualties that our men and women suffered will have been in vain, and if ISIL believes that they can scare us into standing down, they have another thought coming.

The Australian Government and Australian Defence Force would like to confirm the deployment of over 1,000 personnel, which will compromise of hundreds of trainers, advisors, and supporting personnel, to Iraqi Kurdistan where they will assist, advise, and help train the Kurdish Peshmerga. The Peshmerga is a force that has proven instrumental in beating back ISIL and their success as a competent, skilled, and dedicated military force can be seen by recent successful campaigns in northern Iraq where ISIL continues to lose more ground everyday.

However, the Australian government recognizes that even the Peshmerga faces pressures regarding the training of their forces, and we have deployed our brave men and women in uniform to Iraqi Kurdistan where they will help train and advise the Kurdish Peshmerga. Despite the presence of Australian forces in Iraqi Kurdistan, the Australian government stands by its promise that no combat forces will be deployed, and we can confirm that no Australian ground forces will take part in combat operations. That chapter in our history has passed, but we will continue to offer our support to the Iraqi National Army and the Peshmerga, both through advisors and trainers, and air support.

Official Statement Regarding Reduction in Corporate Tax Rates
July 4th, 2015

Posted Image
The Australian Government has made good on it's promise to the Australian people, that after years of rising tax burdens, stagnant growth, and growing difficulty for businesses and families to prosper as they did prior to the recession, tax relief would be provided to the Australian people - which would spur productivity, economic activity, and growth by taking some financial pressure off the businesses that make Australia one of the most prosperous nations on earth. A broad tax reduction agenda has been pursued by the Australian government, and a key plank of this policy is the reduction of the corporate tax rate, so that hiring can be stimulated and prosperity can redefine the Australian economy. The corporate tax will steadily be reduced by 2% in order to help the economy get back on track.

Not only that, but in the near future, the Australian government will seek a reduction in the company tax so that not only small businesses but all businesses in Australia can begin getting back to work, and generating income, wealth, and jobs for the Australian people. Not only that, but the controversial carbon tax will be targeted for repeal in order to save hard-working Australians, households, and small businesses anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars. It has been seen throughout Australian history that the economy runs best when the people can make the choices regarding where their dollars are going, and while progress has been made in reducing tax burdens, there's still more to do.

Official Statement Regarding the Australasian Single Economic Market
July 10th, 2015

Posted Image
The Australian Government, in a spirit of great economic and political cooperation, with one of our greatest allies, New Zealand, has begun the process of creating the Australasian Single Economic Market, with talks regarding this commencing over a decade ago, in 2004. In 2009, an agreement was committed to, that would create the Single Economic Market Outcomes Framework, which was a major step in boosting market harmonization, and shared economic prosperity between our two states, and it is in this that discussions regarding the Single Economic Market began to accelerate. Recently, Prime Minister Tony Abbott met with Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key to discuss and finalize an agreement that would achieve a mutually-beneficial Australian Single Economic Market.

Now, one of the most ambitious goals in the history of Australian - New Zealand relations, the Australasian Single Economic Market, an economic union that would boost competition, commerce, and growth between Australia and New Zealand, is becoming a reality. The transition period is expected to last three years and by 2017, a single economic market, defined by mutual and increased economic growth and development, coupled with increased competition and bilateral investment, will describe the economic relations between Australia and New Zealand. More details can be accessed through resources provided by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
