![]() GENERAL ELECTION RESULT: Parvanov re-elected After three weeks of campaigning, the general election was held yesterday. The Prime Minister, George Parvanov, campaigned for re-election on behalf of GERP. The result of the election was just announced: GERB: 104 seats BSP: 44 seats DPS: 34 seats Reformist Block: 26 seats ABV: 19 seats Attack: 13 seats And the composition of the new Parliament is... ![]() The Prime Minister indeed failed to win the required majoirty (of 121 MPs) in order to form a single party government, but according to him - talks with the Reformist Block and Attack for a coalition government have already started. ![]() National Assembly votes confidence in Parvanov's Second Ministry The Prime Minister offered to the National Assembly his second ministry:
The National Assembly voted as follows: For - 143 Against - 96 Abstained - 1 The Prime Minister then stated that he's glad to be returned and believes that this coalition government will guarantee a strong and successful term. The leader of the 2'nd biggest party, Mihail Mikov (BSP), said "it is the worst three-party coalition that I've ever seen" - however, many criticized him for breaking the tradition to give 100 days of each new Cabinet before attacking it. So, Parvanov is re-elected and he has the confidence of the Parliament in his cabinet. What will happen next? We will show you... |
