The DMO is part of the Australian Department of Defence, and manages the acquisition and support of a diverse range of materiel (equipment), including aircraft, ships, vehicles, electronic systems, uniforms and rations. ![]() DECO The Defence Exports Control Office DECO, the Defence Exports Control Office is the agency that regulates and facilitates the exporting of all defence-related equipment from Australian companies and arms manufacturers to other nations or entities. This agency takes into account, five major considerations, when reviewing arms exports, and these are human rights, international obligations, regional security, national security, and foreign policy considerations. There is a balance that needs to be found between boosting exports while taking into account those five major considerations. |
