![]() Dmitry Kozak Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Esteemed members of the American and European governments, I have been asked by President Putin personally to come before you and demand an explanation as to why there continue to be sanctions against the Russian people and Russian business, and why many of our citizens continue to have their assets in your countries frozen. The situation in which the sanctions where places, however rashly, is over. The Minsk Agreement signed in 2014, a year ago, ended the crisis on terms acceptable to both Russia and the Ukraine. I am here to request that the European Union and the United States of America to immediately lift the sanctions against Russia. We have done our part, ended the regretful crisis and now, once again, the West fails in its responsibilities. With all that being said, we thank the United States for their past calls to remove sanctions on Russia. |

![]() Pat McFadden Minister of State for Europe The United Kingdom has spoken in the European Union on the topic, and have initiated a vote on the removal of the sanctions against Russia with regards to the previous situation in the Ukraine. It is pleasing to see that the Treay of Minsk appears to be holding, and the United Kingdom is willing to work with all involved parties to foster a more diplomatic and cordial future. |

Frank-Walter Steinmeier Foreign Minister We proposed this issue around two months ago and are pleased to announce that consensus in the European Union has been that the sanctions should be removed. Currently, we only need a vote, which we expect to end by the end of this month. Edited by Litos, Nov 8 2014, 03:42 PM.
