Reinhard Silberberg Permanent Representative to the EU While we were contemplating this move before, it appears the Southern government has made the first step and demanded EU sanctions against its rival. While the EU is distant, we believe standing for peace and democracy is important. While we have no trade with North Korea, or very little at the moment, we can track deposits and funds to make sure they do not get to the country, and open woven cloth factories for export to China to compete with our superior technology 10% of North Korea's exports out of the market. All travel to North Korea is to be suspended, as well as all technology and aid. At the same time, we ask that any and all sanctions be complemented with a declaration at the bottom that we support the South insofar as they pursue peace. If they do not pursue peace, then we cannot support them. |
