Agreement on Joint Development The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (hence referred to as the UK) and the Republic of India (hence referred to as India), agrees to the following: 1. The joint development of a new Main Battle Tank that will meet both their nations future needs. 2. That the tank developed, and any jointly developed technologies and/or processes, will be jointly, and equally owned. 3. That the intellectual, or physical, property of the design, including design drawings, full specifications, interior views, mock-ups, prototypes and production vehicles, is not to be shared with other parties without both nations being in agreement. 4. The base specification of the Main Battle Tank is to be kept in a secret addendum to this document. 5. Both nations will equally share in the cost of development. |

In India there is concern over other matters such as the Indian industry requiring huge investments to be able to become fully dependent in producing these units (which most expect to have a lot of British components). |
