Statement on relations with Pakistan

After careful consideration of the ongoing disagreements between Iran and the regime in Islamabad, the Foreign Ministry has decided to expel the representatives of the illegitimate Pakistani regime after that regime's admission that it sponsored, contrary to international law, opposition and terrorist groups within Iran in an attempt to undermine the stability and democracy of the Iranian people. The Foreign Ministry provides 48 hours for all representatives of the Pakistani regime to remove themselves from Iranian territory, and issues an advisory notice to any Pakistani citizens that their presence may be viewed as subversive due to the actions of the Pakistani regime. Accordingly, the Islamic Republic will immediately withdraw its own diplomatic staff. Any future necessary communication can be directed at our ambassadorial representatives in New Delhi.

In the future, the Islamic Republic will be investigating the ability to bring forth litigation in the International Court of Justice on the basis of gathered evidence over the past 12 months as well as the admission of high-level diplomatic staff of the Pakistani regime that they did, in fact, illegally engage in destabilizing behavior and intervened in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic.

Statement on the Israeli State

In accordance with the wishes of the Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khomeini, the Islamic Republic has reevaluated its stance on the Israeli state after the Islamic Republic experienced its own assault by Sunni Arab powers that are hell bent on its destruction. The current axis of fascistic dictatorships that seek to destroy Iranian democracy that is guided by religious principles and theology is the same axis that has time and time again sought to destroy the State of Israel, and has failed in its endeavor of doing so.

We maintain our support and recognition of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, however we remain skeptical of its ability to produce meaningful movement on the Palestinian cause due to its association with the likes of Al Saud or Hussein. We continue to condemn the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, and shall continue supporting forces which resist such invasion at every turn. Just as the people of Iran have the right to not be attacked by the Sunni Arab onslaught, so too must the Syrian and Lebanese people be free from Israeli aggression.

The Islamic Republic continues to believe that Israel must conform to numerous resolutions passed by the UNSC and retreat to previously demarcated borders between the Jewish and Palestinian state. We believe that the Palestinian people must have an unhampered right to self-determination, autonomy, and sovereignty, without fear of their land being occupied, stolen, and their homes destroyed.

As the Islamic Republic moves towards restoring relations with the Israeli State, mindful of its numerous human rights abuses, we do so in the belief that we put ourselves in the optimal position to act as a broker and neutral party to both sides, recognizing that generations of conflict cannot persist between the Jewish and Palestinian people.

Statement on Pakistani Actions

The Islamic Republic of Iran once more condemns Pakistani statements in the Non-Aligned Movement, where the Pakistani regime declared its willingness to invade Iran on false pretenses in order to achieve its own territorial ambitions. Iran continues to be a victim of regional aggressors who believe they have an opportunity to rape, pillage, and destroy due to the weakness caused by the Revolution. They are mistaken in their belief that the Islamic Republic is weak - and we advise Islamabad to carefully frame its statements in the future, as it can now reliably be viewed as a threat to the Islamic Republic itself and will be treated accordingly.

In response to the regrettable imposition of flying restrictions by the Pakistani regime, all Iranian civilian aircraft and other flights will be redirected via the Persian Gulf, then through India, and will proceed onto their destinations. In response, the Islamic Republic will be investigating a wide range of sanctions against the Pakistani regime in order to unambiguously make Tehran's point that we will not accept continued threats, warmongering, and fabrications on part of the Pakistani regime, and that its international support and surrogacy for the aggressive wars of Saddam Hussein and his Al Saud financiers is unacceptable.

Statement on opposition to vague resolutions

Recent discussions in the Non-Aligned Movement have created a resolution which, using immensely vague language, seeks to implicitly lay the blame on both Iran and Iraq for the ongoing conflict, and issuing a general condemnation regarding the use of weapons of mass destruction in the conflict.

We are wholly and totally opposed to such resolutions in the NAM and in the UN. We do not wish to endorse or reward Iraqi aggression by lending credence to their fabricated claims. We oppose any and all wording which does not lay the blame on the Hussein regime for starting a war of aggression and then utilizing weapons of mass destruction when victory was hard to come by.

We can understand the desire for a non-partisan investigation. In principle, we do not disagree with such efforts. But such an investigation has absolutely no possibility of success given continued combat caused by an ever expanding Iraqi onslaught against the Islamic Republic. Thus the wording of such resolutions only serves Baghdad's purposes: to implicate both sides so that the truth of their aggression is obfuscated, and then to delay such an investigation continually due to combat, effectively avoiding guilt.
