The Honorable Prime Minister Paul Keating of Australia, and his delegation, are welcomed with a State Ceremony at Andrews AFB by Vice President George HW Bush
(who joins them in the motorcade)

Following the ceremony, the motorcade passes the National WWII memorial and down a flag-draped Pennsylvania Avenue, before entering Lafayette Square.
A formal reception is prepared at the Northern Facade, where President Reagan and the First Lady will welcome the Australians to the White House.

Use of WMDs, particularly against civilian populations, is clearly an ethical red-line which has been crossed. The real issue is establishing a neutral figure in the region to serve as intermediary between Baghdad and Tehran. I value Cairo's influence; and Egypt might be our best chance at ending this conflict. However, North Africa and the Persian Gulf are two entirely different regions; and I fear that the two sides won't respect outside influence, since they didn't respect the United Nations in the first place.

My government intends to reach out to neighboring states within the respective spheres of influence; and begin gathering pressure for a return to peace talks.

The Honorable Paul Keating
Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia

We do understand the differences between the Persian Gulf and Northern Africa and we are glad to hear of the US intentions to reach out to neighboring states and gather pressure.

Is there anything else the US would like to discuss?

No, that's all for my agenda, Mr. Prime Minister.

Thank you, and I hope the remainder of your stay in Washington is pleasant. Ya know, Paul, you are certainly welcome to stay as long as Canberra permits you.

Are there any issues of Australian interest - that you would like to discuss, or are we done for the time being?

Mr President,
My visit to the White House was a visit I will not forget, Washington is one beautiful place.

That is all of the discussion we would like to discuss as of now but in the future Australia would like to host you to Canberra Mr President.

I would love to stay longer however I am heading to Beijing.
