President Pence's Visit to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia![]() ________________________________________________________________________________________________ His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia President of the Council for Economic and Developmental Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia As-salamu alaykum Mister President, Welcome to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As always it is an honor and a privilege to host the head of state of the United States. With this being the first foreign trip of your administration it is certainly a special occasion. The King will be meeting with you after our conference for dinner. As for the conference we are looking forward to discuss further economic cooperation: specifically in the participation of American companies in the diversification of our economy. Other topics we wish to discuss are: regional cooperation regarding counter-terrorism; including the setting up of a counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency training center in Saudi Arabia for use jointly by Saudi and American personnel. There are many changes coming to Saudi Arabia: in areas that we hope will be of interest to you and your government. We would also like to discuss the ongoing conflict in Yemen with you and your advisors, in the hope of seeing further American cooperation and assistance in that conflict given recent developments since 2016: including Houthis attempts to launch a SCUD missile at the Holy City of Mecca and their attempts to occupy Saudi territory. We are happy to discuss any other topics that you and your delegation may want to bring to the table. |

46th President of the United States of America Thank you for the warm and kind greetings your Highness. I most certainly look forward towards meeting with the King over dinner later on and towards our discussions here. I would like to first start off these talks by thanking Saudi Arabia for it's continued support of America's war on terror, and in our quest to obtain regional stability within the Middle East. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a irreplaceable ally and friend to the United States and I certainly hope we can continue to grow our nations close relationship for decades to come. On the topic of further economic cooperation and the diversification of the Saudi economy, I've been briefed by advisors from the US State Department and the US Treasury who have all come to the agreement that Saudi Arabia must focus on a swift reindustralization into new sectors. Automated manufacturing has been proposed as a strong option for the Saudi Government to focus on, however more than just that will be needed as your nation shifts away from it's oil dependency. Currently Saudi Arabia is a raw resource exporter and it imports most if not all of it's finished products, by establishing domestic industries in the sectors that Saudi Arabia sees the most imports of you can certainly reduce your relevance on oil and gas exports while also growing your consumer based economy and global trade. Sectors which Saudi Arabia could easily transition into would be tires, plastics, finished metals, solar panels, and finished machinery. In terms of US support for these initiatives I'm certain deals could be made with the US state department and Treasury to help support these initiatives. With regards to counter-terrorism, the United States would be completely open to the creation of a counter-terrorism training centre in Saudi Arabia to help assist in the development of your military and para-military forces. The United States would be willing to commit 50% of the funds required to establish and operate such a training centre as well. Continuing with the topic of counter-terrorism currently the United States has started undertaking special forces operations against Al Qaeda in Yemen. We hope these operations will flush the terrorist group from the country which will bring some small gain in stability for the war torn nation. We have also allocated various intelligence gathering assets in the region to assist your forces who are currently engaging the Iranian backed Houthis rebels. In terms of further assistance what would you like to see that entail exactly? |

His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia President of the Council for Economic and Developmental Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mister President, Your gratitude towards the Kingdom is greatly appreciated. To respond to you and your advisors thoughts on the diversification of our economy the notion of high-technology industry and highly automated industry is something that has been looked into by my own advisors and our economic experts and we believe it is something we would be interested in perusing. We know that America is currently looking inward for investment, but if any American company would wish to come and assist with this process they would be welcomed: as all US employees in Saudi companies are welcomed. And any support from the US State Department and Treasury would also be welcomed. With regards to the counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency training facility: We envision this facility being a multi-billion dollar state of the art enterprise dedicated to training the forces of the GCC and our Western allies in handling the rising global threat of terrorism and insurgency. Our suggestion is for the facility to be added to the King Khalid Military City. America's current support in the conflict against the terrorist group Houthis is invaluable and you have our deepest thanks. We would like to ask the United States, in the interest of regional peace and security as well as to protect shipping in the region, especially when the Suez eventually reopens, to take a more active role against Houthis and join with us in actively assisting the internationally recognized government in Yemen. |

46th President of the United States of America In the coming days I will personally reach out to my friends in the Private sector to speak to them regarding further investments into Saudi Arabia. The continued economic success of you nation is paramount to the continued safety, security, and success of the United States and we will do everything necessary to help foster Saudi Arabia's growth into new economic sectors. I believe that the further in depth details are best left to our economic experts to delve deeper into and create proposals in which we can return to discussing at a later date. As for your proposal on the creation of a state of the art counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency training facility, we believe that such a facility could be beneficial not only to the United States and Saudi Arabia but for our NATO allies and your allies in the GCC as this facility could be created as a global training centre for counter terrorism operations. As for your location proposal we have no objections to placing it in King Khalid Military City. The United States continues to remain in support of your counter insurgency operations in Yemen and we intend on continuing to provide support, what would a more active role entail exactly in they your eyes? Would it be the expansion of more intelligence gathering assets, providing US air support, or are you hoping for US boots on the ground? |

His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia President of the Council for Economic and Developmental Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia I am glad to have the US support in the diversification plans for our nation and the great interest in the new Counter-Terrorism center which is planned. With regards to US support in Yemen: after discussion with our GCC allies we must ask that the United State Air Force and United States Navy become directly involved, in the very minimum. However if your military was willing to put boots on the ground we would not be opposed to working with US troops in restoring order and security to Yemen. |

46th President of the United States of America Currently the US Navy is acting in a support role of the Saudi blockade of Yemen to stem the flow of arms and USAF personnel are acting in a training and support role for your air forces. With the current US involvement taken into account, the tragedies that this drawn out conflict has caused, and the actions of the Houthis rebels the United States has moved to classify the Houthis as a terrorist organization. Furthermore I will be meeting with military advisors and legal council on what steps the United States can take to further support the Saudi led intervention in Yemen. Once we have completed this I will reach out to you again and we can speak more in depth regarding this manner. With all of our topics covered I would like to thank you for your hospitality in hosting me here and I wish you the best. |
