Week Ahead Forecast (1/3/14) By Gavin Partridge. Rain at times this weekend. Some dry/sunny weather too We still have some outbreaks of patchy rain left over from Friday across the south-east of England. This should clear away this morning. Early mist and fog patches should lift to reveal some decent sunny spells, but through this afternoon an area of showery rain will push into Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. Temperatures will be a little chilly today. It will become very wet across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England tonight, while it stays dry further south with clear spells. Any early rain in the north-east will die away early on Sunday, then all eyes on the Atlantic as the next area of low pressure brings wind and heavy rain across the country through Sunday afternoon and evening. It will stay very unsettled into the early part of next week, but later it in the week it may well turn drier and much mild with a taste of spring by next weekend, perhaps.
