Wednesday 25 June

Increasingly unsettled

Becoming increasingly unsettled, particularly across England and Wales
Risk of some heavy rain or showers at times
Thunderstorms possible in the south
Scotland and Ireland often drier and brighter
Turning cooler especially in any wet weather

Wednesday

Dry with some bright or sunny spells and feeling pleasantly warm in light winds across England and Wales.

Across Scotland and Ireland it will be cloudier with sporadic outbreaks of rain or showers, especially across northern and western areas of Ireland and southern and south-western areas of Scotland.
Thursday and Friday

Unsettled conditions become dominant with an initial band of rain moving northwards across England and Wales later on Thursday and overnight into Friday.

This is expected to become slow moving over Northern England on Friday to bring quite a poor day here in particular, but with Scotland and Ireland generally drier and brighter.

A mixture of sunshine and showers will follow with showers across central and southern areas on Friday especially likely to be heavy with a risk of thunder some torrential downpours locally too.

The map shows the areas most at risk of seeing the largest rainfall totals and the most significant downpours.
Potential severe weather and temperature

Slow moving and heavy, thundery downpours may bring some localised temporary flooding in places for central and southern areas on Friday.

Temperatures slowly decline in the coming days with quite a cool feel to the weather and highs ranging between 16C and 20C generally, though perhaps only struggling to 14C or 15C across some parts of northern and eastern England by Friday.
