Sunshine and showers for many areas this weekend, especially Saturday
Some heavy and perhaps thundery downpours across more southern areas
Generally drier and brighter for most on Sunday
Feeling quite cool, especially by night in the north

Heavy and potentially thundery showers or longer spells of heavy rain will develop across many central and southern areas.

Over 30mm of rainfall is possible locally in quite a short period of time with a risk of localised flooding.

It is expected to be a much quieter day across the far north of England and Scotland with some bright or sunny spells.

The map shows the main areas at risk of disruptive and severe weather on Friday.
Saturday and Sunday

A mixture of sunshine and showers will continue across most areas of the UK.

The heaviest and most frequent showers will be on Saturday across central and southern areas of England and Wales, with some further heavy and thundery downpours possible in places.

As the weekend progresses conditions will improve slowly with Sunday generally being mainly dry with bright or sunny spells for most.

Some showers, albeit lighter, are still likely for some southern and eastern areas of the UK.
Potential severe weather and temperature

Severe weather is possible through Friday and into Saturday across central and southern areas of England and Wales in the form of heavy and thundery downpours with a risk of localised flooding.

Maximum temperatures ranging between 15C and 20C are expected generally and it will also be quite chilly by night, especially across more rural areas of the North when temperatures may fall to 4C or 5C on Saturday night.
