Wet and windy conditions across more western areas of the UK will continue to slowly progress eastwards throughout the remainder of Friday. Some heavy outbreaks of rain are expected for more northern and western areas of the UK. Across the highlighted areas by the end of Friday and into Saturday morning a general 20mm to 30mm of rainfall is possible, but with locally totals up to 40mm to 50mm. The rain will not reach the south-east of England and as a result another very warm, sunny day is expected.
Saturday and Sunday

A wet start to Saturday is expected across many areas of England and Wales with outbreaks rain gradually clearing away to the east, this process will take until mid-to late morning at least. Further north and west it will be brighter with some sunny spells but showers will become increasingly frequent and heavy with a risk of thunder during Saturday afternoon across Scotland and Ireland. By Sunday many areas of the UK will be at risk of a mixture of sunshine and showers. Once again the showers will be most frequent across more northern and western areas where local downpours and thunderstorms are possible, whilst parts of the south and south-east generally see the best of any drier and brighter conditions.
Potential severe weather and temperature

A risk of some locally large rainfall totals exists across higher ground of N Wales, W Scotland and Cumbria through the rest of Friday and into Saturday with perhaps some localised flooding. Some of the showers over the weekend across Scotland, Ireland, Wales and N England may well be very heavy with thunder and these too may provide some localised temporary flooding. Temperatures through the rest of Friday across south-east England may peak at near 27C or 28C, but a marked cooling trend is then expected through the rest of the weekend with highs ranging between 16C and 20C generally.
