Generally unsettled

A mixture of sunshine and showers to start the week, these locally heavy and perhaps with a risk of thunder
Wednesday is expected to be the best day of the week with many areas dry with bright or sunny spells
Risk of some heavy rain developing from the east during Thursday and Friday with perhaps a risk of localised flooding
Temperatures, overall, near or slightly below average, but a warmer and more humid end to the week is possible.

Monday and Tuesday

The opening few days of the week are set to produce a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers. The showers may well be locally heavy at times particularly across more eastern areas of England on Tuesday. In-between the showers there will be some lengthy drier and brighter intervals, with most areas seeing some sunny spells at times. As usual, some areas may well miss the showers completely and end up with two relatively dry days
Wednesday

Mid-week sees a ridge of high pressure dominate across most areas. As a result a fine and settled day is expected with bright or sunny spells. It will feel pleasantly warm in the sunshine, but increasing cloud and a strengthening wind from the north may make for a cooler day across more eastern areas of England.
Thursday and Friday

At the moment a progression towards more unsettled conditions is expected. Outbreaks of rain, developing from the east, will bring a particularly wet end to the week cross some eastern and northern areas of England and perhaps some localised flooding. At the same time weather fronts will move into western areas of the British Isles too and this will bring rain or showers from the west. The general theme for the end of the week at the moment is for rain or showers to develop over many areas and with some heavy precipitation possible.
Potential severe weather and temperature

Risk of localised downpours from the showers early in the week which may bring some poor driving conditions, eastern England a possible focal point on Tuesday. The risk of some heavy rainfall from the east on Thursday will be monitored in the coming days, as this may bring some localised flooding too in places. Temperatures, overall, this week generally ranging between 16-20C, though perhaps up to 22C at times where sunshine is most prevalent.
