Friday 11 July Unsettled weekend Increasingly unsettled over the weekend as outbreaks of rain and showers move eastwards Risk of some heavy rain or showers for a time later on Saturday and overnight into Sunday Rain lingering across eastern areas on Sunday, but generally turning drier and brighter from the west A warm and humid start to the weekend, especially across England and Wales, but then turning cooler and fresher during Sunday. Friday Rain and showers across south-east England this morning will gradually ease, but for a time some heavy bursts of rain are possible. Across Most Areas the remainder of Friday will produce mainly bright or sunny spells, especially so through more central areas of the UK. Saturday For most of England and Wales a dry and bright start to Saturday is expected and it will become warm and humid through the morning. Across Scotland and Ireland it is expected to be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain from the start of the day and these unsettled conditions with outbreaks of rain will then move eastwards through the day. Some heavy bursts of rain are possible at times and it will be a slow process too, with the wet weather not really reaching E England until late in the day, whilst clearer and cooler weather follows to Ireland from the west. Sunday Rain and showers are expected across more eastern and south-eastern areas of England to start Sunday with perhaps some localised downpours and thunderstorms too. Conditions will gradually improve from the west through the day. Elsewhere across more northern and western areas Sunday will provide a mixture of sunshine and a few showers but most areas generally becoming dry by the end of the day. Potential severe weather and temperature Risk of some heavy rain and showers spreading eastwards on Saturday and lingering across eastern areas into Sunday. Some localised downpours possible which may bring some poor driving and traveling conditions along with some temporary surface flooding. Temperatures very warm initially on Saturday with highs ranging 21C -25C across most areas, but locally up to 28C is possible across urban areas of the south-east. Much cooler and fresher conditions are expected through Sunday when highs ranging between 18C and 22C are more likely and a few degrees cooler than this across Scotland and Ireland.
