UK daily outlook - 24th to 27th July.

Hot and sunny, isolated heavy showers in South West.

The hot weather will be with us until Saturday and then it will turn cooler and fresher from the north west for a couple of days with rain over the north on Saturday and Sunday, and some lighter showers over the east of England on Monday.

It then looks like becoming warmer and humid again, and we may see temperatures back up to the high 20s later next week over the southern half of the UK, perhaps 28 to 29C. The north will be warm but not as hot as this week.

At the moment it looks like August will be a warmer than normal month too.

Thursday and Friday will see only subtle differences in the weather over the UK. There will be east-north-east breezes over England so eastern coasts will be coolest at 20C and the west and sheltered southern areas hottest, reaching 28 to 30C.

There is a risk of isolated showers over the south of England and south Wales but a higher risk of some local downpours and thunderstorms along the south coast to Devon and Cornwall on Thursday afternoon. There is less risk of showers on Friday with just a few isolated showers in the south.

In the north, there will be a lot of low cloud, mist and sea fog overnight and in the mornings in eastern Scotland and north east England for the next few days, but hot and sunny away from the east.

Temperatures will again reach 27 to 28C in western Scotland - 29C is possible.

There will be a change this weekend with rain spreading to western then northern Scotland on Saturday with 10 to 20mm likely, even Glasgow catching 5mm of rainfall.

Temperatures in Glasgow will be 21C on Saturday and then 19C on Sunday. Another 20 to 30mm of rain will fall in north-west Scotland on Sunday and 7 or 8mm in Glasgow through the day in moderate west-north-west winds.

The southern half of the UK should have another very warm or hot day on Saturday then lower temperatures in moderate north-westerly breezes on Sunday, but still in the low 20s.
