UK daily outlook - 11th to 13th August.![]() Ex-hurricane Bertha centred between north-east Scotland and south-west Norway on Monday, bringing strong winds (40-60mph) gusts and heavy rain (20-40mm) across north Scotland especially. There were showers elsewhere pushing eastwards in the blustery westerly wind, frequent in the west and especially across Ireland, some thundery ones in central and southern England. The showers were more scattered in some parts of the east with the temperature up to 21C (down on the average for August) with temperatures a cool 11-13C in the rain across Scotland. ![]() On Tuesday the low (ex-Bertha) will still be there and giving plenty of showers across the UK in the west-north-west wind. That wind will be strong across Scotland with some lively gusts and that’s where the showers will be merging to give longer spells of rain. Temperatures will be on the cool side everywhere but especially across Scotland. ![]() There will be little change going into Wednesday and as the wind moves around more into the north-west, there may be fewer showers across Ireland and more across England and Wales. There will still be plenty of showers across Scotland, staying on the cool side in the north-west flow. It looks like becoming drier later in the week and into the weekend as the low edges further to the east, with higher pressure following from the north-west. It won’t be much warmer, though, with the air still coming from the north-west. It will still probably be in the low 20s in the east and south-east, maybe into the mid-20s in a few places but still below par for August. ![]() ![]() Source ................... http://uk.weather.com/ |
