UK daily outlook - 13th August

Low pressure will persist to the north-east through Wednesday, the wind coming more from the north-west and moderate to fresh across exposed northern and western coasts.

It will be another day of showers with some sunny spells but the shower distribution will be different from earlier in the week with many of the showers across northern Scotland and in the north-west, north Wales and parts of central England.

Ireland will have a better day with fewer showers. Overall, temperatures will still be on the cool side, 22C in some eastern parts of England likely to be the high.

It will be another showery day on Thursday with low pressure a little further to the east across Denmark and southern Norway.

Winds will be lighter and hence any showers will be slower moving and may last longer, especially across wales and the south-west.

It will be another relatively cool day with temperatures in the mid to high teens and 21C or so at best.

There looks to be an improvement heading into Friday and the weekend, more especially across the south of the UK, with high pressure giving some drier and brighter weather.

Some rain will push in across the north, though, and it will still be on the cool side generally for August, so no heatwave yet.
