The U.S. Coast Guard over the weekend rescued an 800-pound leatherback turtle after it became entangled in fishing gear off the coast of New Jersey, and it was all caught on camera.

A Coast Guard crew from Station Cape May and the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine carried out the rescue on Saturday about 30 miles offshore South Jersey.

All ended well after crews worked to untangle the turtle from the line and the turtle swam away.

Leatherback turtles are the largest, deepest diving, and most migratory and wide ranging of all sea turtles and can grow up to 2,000 pounds, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Leatherbacks are currently listed as endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
