UK daily outlook - 14th August.

Low pressure will remain dominant to the north-east of the UK on Thursday, a moderate to fresh north-north-east flow feeding showers across Scotland through the morning.

Apart from some showers over Ireland and the south west of the UK, it will be a dry start. Through the afternoon, a trough moving in from Ireland will bring showers to Wales and southern England, some heavy showers merging to longer spells of rain with a risk of some thunderstorms as the afternoon progresses.

It will feel cool for the time of year with highs ranging from 14C-16C in the north to 18-21C in the south - slightly below the average for the time of year.

It will be less windy on Friday as a ridge of high pressure moves in from the west. It will be mostly cloudy across Ireland and Scotland in gentle north-westerly winds.

There will be sunny spells across England and Wales although there will be some scattered showers developing, feeling warmer in the lighter winds.

Another low pressure cell moves in from the west on Saturday becoming centred over the North Sea.

It will be another windy day in the north with scattered showers, feeling cooler than the highs of 14-17C.

It should be drier and less windy in the south with highs around normal for the time of year - 20-21C.
