UK daily outlook - 16th to 18th August Low pressure will dominate the forecast over the weekend giving outbreaks or rain and showers across the north and north-west. Windy here too. Turning cooler on Sunday and through the beginning of next week as that Low clears over Scandinavia, pulling in a much cooler northerly flow. ![]() West Beach, Selsey, West Sussex. An area of low pressure will sweep past the north Saturday, giving cloud and outbreaks of showery rain towards the north and north-west. Windy too with gusts up to 40mph. Slacker winds elsewhere with much brighter weather. The best of the sunshine towards the south coast. Temperatures ranging between 14C across the far north and 22C in the south-east. ![]() Feeling cooler on Sunday as the winds veer from the north and remain fresh. Low pressure, situated over the north Sea, and associated occluded front will bring cloud and spells of heavier rain across north Scotland. Heavy showers across western parts in correspondence to a passing front but drier through central and southern parts with mainly cloudy skies. Temperatures topping 21C in the south but 14 to 16C further north. ![]() Temperatures will be lower than the seasonal average Monday as Low pressure, situated over Scandinavia, continues to pull a northerly flow across the British Isles around its western flank. Windy across the north with some heavy showers feeding in from the North Sea. Some of these showers will merge to produce longer spells of more persistent rain. Scattered showers and cloudy skies elsewhere. Temperatures dipping to 12C across the north, meaning we could see the first ground frost overnight into Tuesday and even snow over the Cairngorms.
