Monster Storm, well almost
Unsettled days ahead

By Becky Sherlock in Birmingham 22:30hrs 15/10/2014

Over the last few days, popular media attention has turned its focus from the unseasonably warm temperatures expected this coming weekend to an impending ‘monster storm’ lurking off the west coast of the UK.

Whilst monster storm may be a slightly woolly term, unsettled weather is expected over over the coming 5 days. The analysis chart below for Wednesday shows the centre of low pressure in the Atlantic, just west of the British Isles. As this moves eastward, it brings with it warm, humid south westerly air that will give us the unseasonably mild temperatures this weekend.

Looking ahead to Saturday (below), a cold front moving across the South West of the UK, bringing with it heavy showers, which are expected to be worst over South West England and Wales. The North will remain mainly dry until later on Sunday.

Pack your brolly if you’re heading out this weekend!
