Wednesday 22 October

Increasingly wet and windy, but mild

Remaining unsettled with further rain or showers at times to end the week.
Rain heaviest and most persistent across northern and western areas
Risk of some longer spells of rain across central and southern areas of England during Friday
Milder for a time across England and Wales, but generally remaining quite chilly elsewhere
Cool and showery weekend ahead, but a lot of dry weather in the south. Strong winds in the north.

Wednesday

Further low pressure and unsettled conditions will lead to mostly cloudy conditions across Scotland, Ireland and N England through the remainder of the day with some outbreaks of rain or drizzle at times. Some heavy rain is expected across W Scotland with perhaps some localised flooding here given the combination of further rain today with heavy rain in the past few days.
Thursday and Friday

An unsettled end to the week is expected overall as low pressure dominates the weather with mostly cloudy conditions on Thursday producing further spells of rain, primarily across Scotland, Ireland and N England, but some patchy rain and drizzle is possible across central and southern areas of England. Into Friday and Scotland and Ireland will experience a mixture of sunshine and showers along with a chilly W or SW’ly wind. For central and southern areas of England outbreaks of rain are expected for a time but will gradually clear away to the east as the day progresses.
Severe Weather and Temperatures

Some localised flooding may occur across W Scotland in the coming days or so given the risk of accumulating rainfall leading to large rainfall totals, otherwise no severe weather is expected. Temperatures ranging between 9°C and 13°C across Scotland, Ireland and N England to end the week where it will be quite cool. However, for the majority of England and Wales it will be milder than the last few days with temperatures ranging between 14°C and 18°C.
