UK daily outlook - 30 October to 2 November By Eleanor O'Neil, Senior Meteorologist The UK will stay in a mild breezy southwesterly flow on Thursday. Morning cloud, rain and patchy drizzle across Scotland and north east England will clear to the north east to leave a mainly dry day with some sunny spells developing across central and eastern England. It will stay cloudier, with occasional outbreaks of light rain over the windward western coasts. Rain is expected to move in across western Ireland later in the afternoon. It should feel warm for the time of year in the sunny spells, parts of northern Wales, south east England and north east England will be most favoured and could see highs of 17-19C. 14-16C typically across England, Wales and N Ireland. 12-14C across Scotland. Expect gentle to moderate southwesterly winds. ![]() Cold front rain is expected to move eastward across Ireland during the course of Friday, edging into western Scotland by the evening whilst turning more showery in nature across Ireland. It'll remain dry across much of England and Wales with plenty of sunshine, and there will be moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh across the west. Maximum temperatures will be 12 to 15C in Scotland, 13 to 16C in Ireland and northern England, and 17 to 19C for Wales and central and southern England, possibly reaching 20C across the east and south east, 5 to 8C above normal for the time of year. ![]() That cold front will continue to spread eastwards overnight lying across northern England, Wales and south west England by dawn, clearing to the east in the early Saturday afternoon but weakening as it does so with the far south east of England escaping largely dry. In the meantime another frontal system will approach from the Atlantic bringing further rain and showers across the west with gusty winds. It will turn cooler, with temperatures around 11 to 13C across the north and west and 13 to 16C for central and southern areas. ![]() It's a windy day on Sunday, with rain on a cold front pushing southeastwards across England clearing to the south east by the evening whilst the fresh to strong southwesterly winds carry showers across the west. Some of the showers will be heavy and merge to more persistent rain at times. Temperatures won't be too dissimilar to that of the previous day, with 9-12C across the north and west and 12-15C across central and southern areas. Source ............ http://uk.weather.com/ |
