Wednesday 29 October 1pm Very mild for late October A colder and drier mid-week interlude will give way to much milder weather again to end the week Temperatures well above average and it will be warm or very warm across England and Wales Rain and showers becoming a risk across Scotland and Ireland, but mainly dry elsewhere Generally becoming unsettled across many areas this coming weekend Temperatures returning to nearer average as the weekend progresses so feeling colder Thursday and Friday Low pressure will become dominant to the west of the UK to end the week and this will bring a renewed SW’ly air mass across many areas. As a result conditions will become very mild across many areas. Outbreaks of rain will develop across Scotland and Ireland, but for the bulk of England and Wales both Thursday and Friday will often by dry with some bright, sunny spells and feeling more like late summer than mid-autumn. Weekend outlook The risk of rain and showers will become increasingly widespread into the weekend but with Scotland, Ireland, N England and Wales at primary risk of heavy rain at times. Further south and east drier, brighter weather will persist but with some patchy showers too. After the very mild end to this week temperatures will slowly, noticeably, fall back to nearer average values, so feeling colder. Temperatures Temperatures will rise to end the week and a very mild spell of weather is likely for late October. Maximum temperatures across Scotland and Ireland are expected to range between 13C and 17C, but across the bulk of England and Wales, maximum temperatures ranging 15-20C are expected and perhaps a record-late-October-high of near 22C is possible.
