UK daily outlook - 5-7 November By Michael de Villiers, Senior Meteorologist Apart from a chilly start to the day with frost, Wednesday will be sunny and mostly dry under higher pressure after a weak trough with patchy rain clears the east of England late in the morning. A little more in the way of cloud is expected over southern England during the afternoon. Winds will be gentle north-westerly, gentle to moderate along the coasts. Maximum temperatures will be around 6C to 9C in the north and 10C to 12C in the south. ![]() There will be widespread morning frost over most of England, Wales and Scotland on Thursday under partly cloudy to clear sky and light winds with temperatures -1C to +3C (-3C at higher altitudes), especially for the eastern parts of Scotland and England where there will be mostly clear sky. Another deep low in the vicinity of Iceland will bring a return to wetter, windier and warmer weather in a moderate to fresh south-westerly wind with widespread rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland, west Wales and western Scotland through the morning with heavy falls in places. The cloud and rain will spread eastwards with Kent and East Anglia remaining dry until the evening. At times the wind will be strong through the Irish Sea and along the Wales west coast. Maximum temperatures will be 7-9C in the north, 4-6C at higher altitude, up to 12-14C in the south. ![]() On Friday expect a less cold morning than of late, under a south-westerly wind and increased cloud. Minimum temperatures 5-8C in the north to 8-10C in the south. It'll be cloudy to overcast with occluded front rain clearing the east early with rain showers following, mainly in the west in a moderate to fresh and gusty south-westerly wind. Largely dry and broken cloud areas appearing over Northern Ireland, eastern Wales, south-eastern England in the afternoon. Mostly light rain will linger over Scotland and northern England. Maximum temperatures won't be much above the morning minima in the cloudy and wet weather at 8-10C in the north and west, 12-13C in the south. ![]() Source .................. http://uk.weather.com/ |
