Portuguese submarine TRIDENTE fouled in French trawler net in UK waters Tuesday, July 12, 2016 ![]() MRCC Corsen, France, at 0730 LT July 12 was informed, that Portuguese submarine TRIDENTE was caught in the net of French trawler DAYTONA, some 30 nm south of Lizard, in MRCC Falmouth area of responsibility. TRIDENTE was engaged in joint exercises with the Royal Navy, DAYTONA was fishing. Submarine surfaced and contacted trawler, DAYTONA let go the net and started to sail to French coast, no damages were reported, trawler didnпїЅt ask for assistance. Submarine understood to be still fouled in the net, British rescue service is to clear submarine from the net, no damages reported. Trawler DAYTONA, Callsign FQCW, length 20 meters, flag France. Diesel/AIP submarine TRIDENTE, Portuguese Navy, displacement 2020 submerged, commissioned 2010, armament torpedoes, crew 33. Source: ( )
