Boy, 11, Sneaks On Plane to Rome: DNews Nugget. Many kids run away from home for the adventure of it, but few get as far as one 11-year-old boy from Manchester, England, who ditched his mum at a shopping center two miles from the airport and caught a flight to Rome. His mom reported the boy missing on Tuesday at 12:40 p.m. and by the time the flight to Rome departed at 2 p.m. from Manchester airport he was already on it. Airport officials say he was not a security risk because despite not having a passport or boarding card he did clear security. Though some airport staff members have been suspended. Hopefully the boy got a window seat because the view from inside the plane was all he saw of the Italian capital. He was identified mid-flight and the flight crew along with the Italian authorities made sure he stayed on the plane for the return flight back to England, arriving home at 9 p.m. Source ...............
