Week Ahead Forecast (2/11/13) by Gavin Partridge. Hello folks, The weather will be remaining very unsettled and disturbed with several bout's of heavy rain and strong or gale force winds coming up. On the plus side at least it will be staying mild, although Monday will be a colder day. For Saturday a deep area of low pressure is moving in from the Atlantic. This will give heavy rain to Scotland and Northern England with snow on Scottish mountains. Meanwhile England and Wales will have more showery weather, but it'll be here that we get the worst of the wind with strong to gale force gusts developing by this evening. Southern and western coasts could have gust's up to 60mph. Temps, 4-14c north to south. Overnight, heavy, squally rain will continue for Scotland with showers across Northern Ireland and Northern England. Further south it should become mainly dry and the winds will ease, though still remaining windy with local gales across north-east England. Temps, 2-7c and feeling cold. Low pressure will be off the east coast of Scotland on Sunday with a new area of low pressure moving into the south-east from the Atlantic. Much of the country will start Sunday on a sunny note with showers mainly around coasts and persistent rain (with hill snow) still clinging to central and northern Scotland. The rain in the north-east should start to ease, but more heavy rain will spread into Ireland, Wales and south-west England through the afternoon. It will be another windy day and it will feel cold with temps of 4-12c. England and Wales will have a spell of torrential rain on Sunday night, possibly up to 40mm in places and a risk of local flooding. Further north it should be dry with lighter winds and the risk of frost. Temps, -1c for Scotland to 5-7c for southern England. We're in a brief drier slow on Monday with good bright or sunny spells and showers confined to coasts. It will be a cold day with temps of 4-10c - Monday evening definitely the evening for Bonfires and Fireworks as it should be mainly dry and fine, if rather cold. The next area of low pressure moves in from the Atlantic on Tuesday giving cloud and rain to most of the country with showers following to the west. Becoming windy again, but at least it will be milder with temps of 6-13c. We have a complex chain of weather fronts on Wednesday with fronts strung out across England and Wales giving persistent outbreaks of rain all day. Scotland and Northern Ireland will have more showery conditions. It will be windy again but very mild in the south with temps possibly reaching 16c. Still pretty cool for Scotland at 6-9c. The front clear through on Wednesday night leaving us in a strong run of showery westerly winds for Thursday. Eastern parts probably mainly dry, most of the showers in the west where they could be heavy. Winds reaching gale force across Scotland and Northern England. Temps, 5-11c, cooler again in the south. The next area of rain may be threatening on Friday, otherwise it's a case of sunshine and showers. Temps, 6-12c. Next weekend will probably be showery, windy and quite cold. Summary: Remaining very unsettled with heavy rain and strong winds on many occasions. Gales at times. Temps up and down, but sometimes quite cold in the north.
