200 Point Kill Team List; My first proper game in 4 years

Hi guys,

I just wanted to ask your opinions on a 200pt Killteam list. I've been toying with the idea of taking a unit of death marks, wraiths and fill in the rest with what ever.

But I don't know how this will hold up, got a tourney kind of thing coming up. I know this isn't a pure cheese list, but I haven't played in over 4 years, so this is something that will get me back into the gaming scene easier than a full on 2000pt game where I have no idea whats going on.

The rules are

Force org chart of 200pts
0-1 Elite
0-2 Troops
0-1 Fast Attack

Must have at least 3 models, no models with more then 2 wounds, no flyers, creation of units will not work, no vehicle with armor value combined over 33 and no 2+ saves.

Let me know your thoughts!

Cheers

Jay

...I placed 3 Deathmarks on the board and kept the Wraiths together behind cover, moving them as a block.

The 3 DM's on the board picked different HfH targets and two managed rending rolls in turn 1, removing two models from play without a save being made. My friend poured his fire into the wraith's killing one and also dropping my Warlord down (Deathmark) with a lucky bolter shot.

2nd turn, I deep strike both remaining deathmarks behind his remaining squad members and rapid fire HfH into their two targets killing both. Wraiths managed to assault into a ruin and proceeded to murder his relentless HB marines...

Hate to point this out, but from everything I've read regarding Kill Team you CANNOT put any units in reserve. DS reserve is still IN reserve, no?

check out this link. These are the rules.

We were running off the latest Kill Team rules on my friend's iPad which stated nothing against reserve for a unit that had deep strike.

Was a friendly anyway and wouldn't have honestly affected the result!

My daughter loves her (my daughter is 10 and plays Nids (she is painting them blue, with pink shells, purple small bits, skull basing, and hearts on the shells). Necrons do not exactly get ever-living according to my store manager, they get normal reanimation protocols as long as they are within 2 inches of another unit with reanimation protocols.

Also I know what the faq say about 1 mark per model on the enemy models but I like my store managers ruling better so I won't argue it. Taking it as one mark from a deathmark on 1 other model only gives you a max of 5 models marked. The way my store manager ruled it I choose a unit for my deathmarks to mark as a unit. So if they have a kill team of 30 genestealers or something stupid like that that would be 30 models marked instead of 5. Of course they only get the mark if you deploy last, since you can't have reserves in kill teams.

Now I just ran the list 5 Deathmarks and 3 Wraiths in a 200 pt kill team game on Sunday. I fought Space Marines. I was forced to deploy first so I didn't get to put a mark on anyone. I still wiped the board.
Guess your store rules are different...

So your saying they changed the rules from 2013 to 2014????

I'm a little surprised, but I suppose its possible. I was reading the rules from that link I posted and it stated NO UNITS may start in reserve.

The new rules still say you can't have units in reserve as far as I know. I'll double check them latter.

This is a quote from the latest kill team rule book (available as a digital download from the Black Library for $11.95):

You’re on Your Own: Extra models cannot be generated during the course of the game by any means. Furthermore, the Reserves rule is not used unless as a result of the Outflank special rule. Models cannot enter Ongoing Reserve by any means. If any models in your Kill Team can normally only be deployed via Deep Strike, simply deploy them along with the rest of your army.

Will take another look tonight at the rules. We were using the iPad version which was a little poorly laid out to be honest (in comparison with the normal releases)

It was a first test game of KT anyway and having the two DM's on the board would likely have ended it quicker anyway.

Hello everyone. Nice to see that people have similar ideas to running a Necron KT.
All snipers choose different targets as each model is a unit in KT. This is the case with scouts, eldar rangers etc.
I was thinking to replace the wraiths with a night scythe for my local event. What do you guys think on that?
