As much as I like the Deathmarks, I lost them and made room for the Triarch stalker to add some heavier firepower and to make its' targeting relay ability available to the rest of the army. According to what I've read, since the army is 2 separate detachments, I can have a Harbinger of Despair in each... but if I'm wrong about that I'll have to adjust it. I removed all point values as requested, but I will say that this army comes in 11 points under standard. Thanks for the previous advice. The list seems solid! I dont know if 1 stalker survives for long time, but there have been different experiences with them...some say they die all the time, some say they rarely die at alll.... Where does the harbinger of despair go in? the embarked unit, or the unit on the ground? |

If the Despair-tec goes into the ghost ark, I would advise against the Veil (and possibly even the Shroud). With those points, I would put a Gloom Prism on the Spyder instead so that you have a small bubble of Psychic protection. Not a huge help given our small number of dice but 4+ is a lot better than 6+ if we get targeted. Alternatively, a Storm-tek with Ether Crystal may be useful as well if you find yourself playing against opponents who like to deep strike within 6" of your ghost arks in hopes of blowing them up with Metla or other Anti-vehicle arms. EDIT: With all of that said - a lone Despair-tek is not necessarily a bad idea now that they are scoring. Being able to teleport onto an objective in a Maelstrom mission is very beneficial I have recently found out. Edited by Unholyllama, Jun 4 2014, 07:57 PM.

I would ditch the Phylactery on the OL's and loose the despairtek in that list. I dont see the phylactery as much use since my Lord never dies it is always the barge, and if he comes back at 3w and the barge is on 1 HP with AV11 it is an easy second kill. Dont see the despair being much use without the deathmarks to boost him on a unit but I could be wrong. |

M0Dark-remember that the barge comes back with full shields up. The rules actually state you remove it from the board completely, and when it comes back it's treated as a new unit. For example, if you had an Overlord get hit with an Aeonstave, when he died he'd come back as normal. |

OK. Didn't think that would be the case but I see what you're saying. Was the aeon stave etc thing in the old FAQ? That must have come up before and enough to warrant an FAQ. So all damage to the barge is removed you get shields and guns back. That is excellent. |

Except for hull points, as the rules specifically state he comes back with only 1. =( And We can't get weapon destroyed anyway, so the guns never went anywhere. And no, Aeonstave was such an awful weapon that it never needed to be FAQd, because it was never used. It's a single basic attack at a Warrior statline...the Cryptek shouldn't be going anywhere near enemy characters. Edited by Secundum, Jun 11 2014, 03:31 PM.

Wow....completely missed the everliving on the command barge repairing the barge that much. While I would say we are getting the benefits now, I suspect the command barge to get FAQ'ed a LOT more next time around. |
