Hey there, I have been thinking about a "scarab spawn nest". It would consist of: 3 Canoptek spiders with TL particle beamers 3 scarab bases Aegis defence line (possibly with comms relay or quad gun) cost: 320 points + Aegis upgrades Tactic. Make a half circle with the Aegis and put it at the front, in the middle of your deployment zone. Keep spawning scarabs with the spiders for some turns, note that the scarabs are TOTALLY obscured by the aegis and thus cant be shot at (happy growing). The spiders themself profit from a 4+ cover save and keep shooting with their TL particle beamers (there should be some target in range). Observations: - It might be nice to have a Monolith to pull the spiders out of the Aegis in lategame. - This combination is perfect to have as "anchor unit" thats hard to kill, while the rest of your army is in reserve (put comms relay in aegis) - this combination is also perfect for using as Necron-allies with Tau, for example. Against Tau, opponents tend to come towards you, the Spiders and scarabs then might kill/tarpid the advancing opponents and thus save your squishy Tau units. Any thoughts? |
