So I'm wondering if taking the Gloom Prism on my Tomb Stalker is worth the points with the induction of the Psychic phase now. Normally, I would bother considering them.

Hard to say really. So many psychic powers these days seem to be blessings more than maledictions and witch fires. That said, I could see the gloom prism more useful on the Tomb Stalker than Spyders since the Stalker is more of a threat.

What type of armies have you been playing against and how psyker focused have their lists been?

Here is the question you have to ask yourself about gloom prisms.

Are you fighting an army that have psykers that have powers that will cause the unit to roll DTW? If yes then yes gloom prisim ho if no then no not really.

The GP now with their FAQ give a +2 to DTW for that MODEL and any unit's within 3in away from it. Making one in a unit go from a 6+ dtw to a 4+ dtw and two in/near the unit go from 6+ to 2+ DTW!

Well my 40k scene has been a little dead lately. Everyone's moved over to Warmachine/Hordes. So I have yet to play a single game of 7th. There is hop on the horizon though as a couple of guys I work with are getting into it. I know one said he'll run Eldar and the other is inbetween Nids and Chaos.

All 3 of the considered armies do have a significant psy phase.
It then all depends on your army and where you plan the stalker will be

I think the gloom prisms are fairly worthless. That's because 1) the nastiest psychic armies for the most part aren't even targeting your units. Eldar self buff as others mentioned, chaos summons hordes of daemons. Sure they may sometimes throw a malediction or whitchfire on you, but chances are it's not going to be near the tomb spyders since they can't cover a lot of area.

Not even considering that it only sometimes helps against other armies, also keep in mind most armies don't even really use the physic phase either because they can't like our army or they can't invest enough in psykers to make it worth it.

Well I tend to hold my Stalker in reserve and judge where it would be be deployed. A lot of times I bring it in hit a unit and then pull it back out since it has the phase tunneling. Though I might be using it wrong.

After reading up on the armies I am starting to think that it might not be worth the points for the Prism.
